QUOTE
As if there weren't already enough reasons to laugh at Nickelback

It's probably no surprise that I don't enjoy "popular" or "Top 40" music. It's corporate, bland, overplayed, unoriginal, boring, bland, and boring, It's also dumb. But just because I don't enjoy it doesn't mean I don't listen to it. I mean, how can you not when radio and TV is infested with this crap. Lately, one of the bands that I love to hate is Nickelback, slowly climbing the ranks and placing themselves up at the top with Creed, Matchbox 20, and countless others as "worst bands in the history of music."

So I received tremendous joy when I found the following file over on the SA Forums. Some internet genius took Nickelback's first horrible "hit," and mixed it with Nickelback's newest awful "hit." By "mixed" I mean one shitty song plays in the left speaker, and the other ear-bleeding excuse for rock plays in the right speaker. What a surprise, they are almost EXACTLY THE SAME. It's uncanny, sad, and hilarious at the same time.

Nickelback - How You Remind Me Of Someday.mp3

I felt it was my duty to share this song in order to spread the word on how horrible music is today, and I hope you all do the same. Oddly enough, this song incest sounds better than anything Nickelback will ever actually play.

I am getting closer to likeing crap because I don't have a CD player in my car anymore, so I am forced to listen to the same 4 songs on the radio at least 2 times a day during my total cummute time of under an hour. sad.gif

You know, one of the things that really irks me about Nickleback is the stupid put-on artificial "singing voice" that the front man uses...

I think you know what I mean - where the "singer" (to use the term loosely) tries to sing from the back of their throat in this guttural manner to try and sound LIKE A MAN!!!!!!!!!!

If you're not quite sure what I'm getting at, those legally retarted tools (!!!) Creed do the same thing.

If these guys are so concerned about how people perceive their masculinity that they have to sing in a stupid artificial voice, then they shouldn't be singing at all.

Oh yeah, that's right. I remember the Pearl Jam phase too (with a shudder)... and I think Live were responsible for keeping it going before those TOOLS (!!!!!!!) Creed took it up....

That voice is just a voice. Sure, it's annoying and stupid, but I'm petty sure Eddy Vedder sings that way because he has a deep voice. Scott Stapp and what's-his-fuck from Nickelback are just obnoxious and over-bearing gits.

And where did you get Live from? Ed Kowacawhatever doesn't sing with that voice...Live is a horrible band, but that dude can sing!

He can sing, true. I'm sorry. But it is a little close to that put-on voice.

I think it just comes down to the fact that we now associate every vocalist who can hit the low notes really well with that god-awful vocal style. If only Barry White were still around to show them how it's REALLY done.

At most, there's one good Nickleback song. How You Remind Me is appaling. And while I do like the other one, it is insipid and lifeless. So I don't know...
