okay... early in the year i started working on a webcomic i never got around to hosting... and now i never will. why? because, i just had a look around a realized that Heccubus has a very simialr comic... in that it's virtually the same thing but better done and funnier than mine...

now i didn't know about hec's when i did these... so i didn't ripp him off (nor obviously did he me)... it's just one of those things i guess...

mine was crudley drawn on paintbrush (yes that windows thingy)...
but i though for redundant amusement i'd post them here...

enjoy...
anyway...

There was some really funny stuff there, mate. Good job. Although, I have to say that you wrote yourself into a corner by starting the revolution and forcing that one robot to hide in the garbage bin. You suddenly limited the scope of the comic in no small way. But apart from that, that was quite a funny comic strip.

PS - Paint is not as bad as everyone makes out. I used Paint for Starry Nights and all the Star Wars outings, only using Photoshop for some effects.

Great stuff, barend! You should really host those somewhere and continue on with the comic!

One word of advice: When dealing with graphics like that you should save the images as GIFs. You could probably get away with 16 color, 24 may be necessary. GIF compression lends itself much better to cartoony images and is more forgiving both in appearence and filesize. JPG compression is much better for photos for the same reasons.

really....? cheers...

although the blur was intentional, to make it look less paintbrushy...
and i really like saying "jpeg"
but i see what you mean... i always hated the slight jading that jpeging does to simplie images... so thanks for the advise

the only reason i stopped was because i started writing a book...
i might continue in late january...

i want to here what heccubus has to say first...

Oh pshaw. My "Robots" comic is nothing but mere cut-and-pastery. All of the episodes were produced in one sleep-deprived, "Good God, I need an update" evening last summer. It's not without its charms, but your comic made me chuckle. Bravo. And pirate. pirate.gif

Personally, I save all my comics as PNG files, but that's just me. And what's wrong with teh grrovy robots? I like the groovy robors, we need more.
