Repetition Proposed Forum Rules

1. No posts bashing certain aspects of ROTJ - I'm not saying no bashing of ROTJ. I'm just saying think of a NEW way to bash it. Case and point the incestuous pic that Chef posted *winces". This means
- no Ewok bashing
- no talk of its unoriginality (ex. 2 death stars) unless presented originally
- nothing about "certain point of view" line
- nothing about the immorality of Anakin's ghost at the end
- nothing about Boba Fett's death
- nothing about Han's character
Now, you may think I'm just saying this so I don't have to read anything bad pertaining to ROTJ because I love it. That's not true. I just hate defending the SAME POINTS OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Give me something new to defend. Oh, just a note, pictures and discussions of Leia's bikini are fine .
2. No Lucas bashing - I know, you know, we all know (except Jariten) that Lucas is a pompous prick who after 22 years forgot how to write and direct a movie, and puts himself above his fans, who made him what he is. Nothing new is needed about that. Exceptions are if Lucas comes out with a More Specialer Edition, or if he does anything else new that we can say he is a pompous prick for. And of course, when Episode III comes out.
3. Prequels - With chef's reasons, plus about a year of this forum, the reasons the prequels suck have pretty much been beaten to death. We have also had a bunch of posts such as "What did you like about the prequels" with basically the same answers. We have had Jariten and others (including, occasionally, myself) defend aspects of the prequels, or defend them entirely. We have had people defend their reasons for hating them.
Basically, what I'm saying is, and I hate to be repetitive using this word, but bash (or praise) them originally. An example is JYAMG's stories. Something humorous, something insightful, something. But no "Jar-Jar sucks", nothing about how the Virgin Birth was ridiculous, as were the Chosen One and midichlorian concepts. Just please, something juicy!
4. More talk of Episode III - This is a Star Wars forum. Now even as prequel-haters, we have a responsibility to at least discuss Episode III. I've tried to start a couple posts on it that have gone away pretty quickly, as have some others. But since we've beaten the prequels to death, let's start beating ROTS to death as well. We've already covered the lava surfing, but how about the inconsistencies, the upcoming trailer (November 5), the new characters, the story. Whether positive or negative (most likely negative), let's talk about the last installment in Operation Destroy Childhood Memories.
5. More talk of the good qualities of the OT - Well, for ROTJ you can refer back to rule 1, but let's talk about our memories. Let's talk about how we felt when we saw the binary sunset, when we saw the death star destroyed, when we learned Vader was Luke's father, when we saw a father redeem himself to save his son. We have done much less of this than we could have, and we should start doing it much more. It would lead to more interesting, positive discussions about the OT.
Now let me clarify. These rules only pertain to the TOPIC of a post. Certainly you can mention in your post any of above things, it's not like they're taboo. This is just to steer posters in different directions. It only pertains to posts within a topic if that post (intentionally or not) hijacks the topic and changes it to one of the above topics.
Again, these are only proposed rules, you can proclaim your disdain for them, say you love them, add to them, subtract from them, anything you want. I just thought I would put it out there for discussion.

So, I'm all for these rules. As for Episode III, the reason I myself haven't discussed it much is because I don't know much about it yet. But when other people make their posts on the matter, I'll definitely try to join in.
Also, I'm glad you liked the stories. Actually part of the reason I made them was to do something different when it seemed that there was nothing new being discussed in the forum. And they were a lot of fun for me as well.

6. No more topics about how there are no more topics to discuss and how we should make a rule against repetition
But seriously, we had a surge in new members there for a while, and then anytime they brought something up, they werehit with "We discussed that already; check the archives."
Granted, very few of them were likely supermodels or porn stars, so who cares?

I'm talking about threads by the forum vets which have been discussed many times, and this has been going on for a while. It's just beginning to get to me, I think I'm finally burning out a bit.
And yes Civ, I was just getting to #6. And I just thought of #7. I think you can guess what it is

"And yes Civ, I was just getting to #6. And I just thought of #7. No snide remarks by certain members with avatars from video games.
I'm sorry, that should've been funnier, or at least a bit wittier, but it's late here, and I'm getting very sleepy. Just replace #7 with whatever witty response to Civ I would make on a good day and you'll see where I was going "
It's kind of like the LOTR EE. Both of em are out there, decide which one you like better. Luckily, my edited version isn't 40 dollars

There was a number of people who shined new light on old topics for me. But after awhile it got tiring since we all agreed that SW PT sucked. It was at that time I wanted to get some diehards in here from the SW forums, but that idea did not go over so well with people here.
But don't worry, we still have episode III.
And after Episode III, I'm sure we will all migrate to the MOVIE forum and start complaining bitterly about hollywood and all that.

Everyone here was new once. Everyone here has stated something here for the first time. And most of that stuff has been discussed elsewhere.
