The tune would play a different tone had Lucas did TPM in 1977 where Lucas would actully know where he going but since Lucas is not a deep thinker, he ends up doing the PT in 1999 which made so many confusion.
Lucas should know better. -

Funny, I mentally would hear her scream as the door shuts. Did she really scream in the 1977 version? Having to be born in 1981 and I did not pay attention well enough to the movie when it came out on HBO. If she never scream in the 1977 version, why did my brain assume she should be screaming?
One thing, the probe is far from Leia and it's too slow to reach to Leia over 5 seconds of the scene (the door shuts, we see a soilder walked by) so it would be wierd to hear her scream when it will take more then 5 seconds to pin the needle on Leia.
