Crass, Dead Kennedys, The Vines, and The Living End are all really good. I had a chance to see The Vines and Living End together this past spring, but couldn't afford the ticket. Plus Jet was playing as well, and I can't stand them. Either way, Janey, you've got some pretty good tastes in music!

QUOTE (Jane Sherwood @ Jul 2 2004, 05:49 AM)
Most of the bands you've mentioned are unfamiliar to me, so I'm still rather clueless about how you stand, really (except for Chyld)

Did I really namecheck so many familiar bands then? blink.gif

Personally, I dislike the Vines and Evanescense, but I've no objection to anything else. The Offspring are good, yes they are.

To save me mentioning every CD I possess in such a fashion, try that. You will all slaughter me for some of what's on it

I know of or have heard stuff from about half of those, I think...but some still don't ring a bell.

I think Evanescence has an excellent sound, especially when I'm in a bad mood or for when I'm trying to write something particularly dark. I actually wish they had been around back when I was ages thirteen through fifteen (it would have been perfect music for my "Angsty Phase".

I never seem to have the right music at the right time...

I cannot blame you for the Limp Bizkit (or however the hell it's spelled) stuff, though, as much as I'd like to. I actually bought one of their CDs myself...when I was about fourteen and had no taste. I only watched MTV for Daria at that point, but some of the worst parts of that network still managed to worm their way into my naive, impressionable, little-bitch-who's-angry-at-the-world-for-no-logical-reason mind. I shudder at the memories.

I like Evanescence alot. It's all angsty and depressing, but the music is very pretty. I like how alot of it has the piano in the background. The lyrics are okay, because depressing isn't always a bad thing. =) One of my favorite songs is "Imaginary." Earlier today, out of curiosity, I went hunting for some music videos...I found "Everybody's Fool." Odd video. It turns out that the song is about her whining because she's famous and people gawk at her, and she feels fake. Oh nos, how horrible. ~rolls her eyes~

I'm going to say exactly what I say whenever Evanescence is brought up:

Listen to Lacuna Coil.

That is all.
