Is this done on purpose so that you will be tempted to go bad? If you go bad, do you lose the game?
Other than force heal, the Light side powers seem weaker and far less cool than the Dark side.

I find the sides rather balanced. I mostly used master speed, which both sides have, and stasis field(light) and insanity(dark) are about identical. The dark get lightning and death field, the light get destroy droid and heal. Both get force persuation, although light characters are better putting points into non-force persuade. I didn't bother with the other powers, so I can't really judge them. As far as I can see, as long as you go either full light or dark, its pretty even. If you try and go neutral though, you may get some troubles.

Thanks a lot. So CPU speed is important. That means I need a new mother board. Oh well. I'm looking to upgrading my ram from 256 to 512. I've also got my hands (almost) on a Geforce 2 vid card.
I think I'm going to go Light side. And if that fails then go dark. I wish you could customize the other characters.

You can play through the game as either Dark Side or Light Side - there are two different endings depending on which one you choose. Like SimeSublime says, the Force powers are pretty well balanced - the Light Side focuses more on defensive powers, the Dark Side on offensive ones. But the Light Side also gets Force Heal and Destroy Droid, both of which are very useful.

Taris does get a bit repetitive after a while, but it picks up again once you finally leave the planet. There's quite a lot of variety in the sidequests - you even get to act as a lawyer in a murder trial at one point! The story gets better too - there's a great plot twist in the middle of the game.
Of course, the best part is the dialogue - I would save before almost every conversation with my party members so that I could try out different responses. Too bad I was playing Light Side the whole time, because many of the nastier things you could say were incredibly funny. Make sure to try out different combinations of party members - they sometimes talk to each other as you wander around, and some of their conversations are absolutely hilarious.
I had to get a whole new system to get off Taris! My computer just couldn't handle the space battle sequence and it made me sad.

That's a very nice pic and a very good observation. However, I think I would have picked Salad Bar before Jumanji as a second alternate.
I think you should create a new thread for discussion of that pic! (Don't really know where to put it otherwise).
Lynxfox,
How's the new system and how are you enjoying the game??

Yes, Jordan, the game does try to get you to go dark side (normally it involves stealing from/killing lots of people) because you tend to have more money. Light side stuff is usually irritating, like paying off peoples debts for them instead of killing them and taking their bounty. Although you can get some decent cash as light side too. Just not as fast.

This game is a nightmare. WTF? I'm selling it to my firend. I've had it with this shit. I was going to up grade the RAM and Vid card, but now i'm thinking screw it. People here complaining that the game did run, but failed later on because some levels are too tricked out.
I hate bioware. I'm sticking to blizzard entertainment. I was a fool to leave them in the first place, great games that can be run on a peice of shit from 2000.
