Bush keeps Saddam's gun at White House
Monday, May 31, 2004

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -- A handgun that Saddam Hussein was clutching when U.S. forces captured him in a hole in Iraq last December is now kept by President Bush at the White House, Time magazine reported Sunday.

Military officials had the pistol mounted after it was seized from Saddam near his hometown of Tikrit last year, and soldiers involved in the capture gave it to Bush in a private meeting, Time said.

"He really liked showing it off," Time quoted a visitor who had seen the gun as saying. "He was really proud of it."

I'll bet he loved showing it off. I'll bet he did. Bush is a very sad little man - and by the sounds of things, he is trying to overcompensate for something.... a really tiny brain or something else as equally small....

Oh I don't know. If I had Saddam's gun and showed it to some unnamed visitor, I'm sure a liberal magazine could end up with a quote like: sources say "he sleeps with it every night, I believe."

but the news desk forum is much too liberal for my tastes, so I'll just post my comment and leave the room.

I saw this in the news and just knew it was going to show up here. I can't wait till they find Bin Laden, or the pieces of him anyways, and Bush starts keeping his testacles in a jar on his desk. I don't know exactly how Bush is going to ruin it if we capture Bin Laden but I'm sure he'll find a way, like keeping him blindfolded in a cage while blaring country music and taunting him in person. Personally I think this whole war on terror business would best be solved by letting these two war mongers duke it out. Bin Laden may have a handicap since he's like sixty but then again Bush is an idiot so it kind of evens out. I think Saddam actually suggested the same thing. I don't know about the rest of you guys but I think that if Saddam had challenged clinton to a duel Clinton would have kicked his mustachioed ass. Umm what were we talkign about?

it's just sad, it's not like a sword...

a hand gun is so inpersonal, it means nothing.
why doesn't he just cut to the chase and have him stuffed and mounted, and fedexed to Bush Snr.s living room!!!

So very true. But having dead bodies lying about to decorate one's abode just smacks of arch-fiend. Of course then again it IS George Bush senior so I'd imagine he already has the corpses of Manuel Noriega and a bunch of people from Nicaragua and Panama sitting around his living room.
