Among all the good guy weapons I'd go with Glamdring or Hadhafang but I gotta say the sword of the witch king is sweet.

That's something I didn't get in the movies. Glamdring is supposed to be an elven blade from the war of the hidden city but it looks almost just like Anduril. I think it should be closer to Sting or Hadhafang. They did the same thing with Orcrist Goblin Cleaver in the Hobbit film. I have a staff that's a near replica of Gandalf the Grey's. Therefore I rule all.

Narsil was made by with the aid of the elves... and reforged as anduril by the elves.

but anyway...

you need to see them in the flesh, and i think you'll change your mind...

Yes but they lack the curves and exotic style of Hadhafang and Sting, my point is Glamdring should have a different style. Anduril looks more like elven work than Glamdring.

Nice armory, B.

I couldn't help but dig up this article I found in Catalog Age a year or two ago. Offered tounge-in-cheek, naturally.

Frodo Doesn't Really Live, You Know

Tying in with the release of the second film in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, the holiday catalog from collectibles mailer The Noble Collection includes nine pages of swords, goblets, and of course, rings commemorating the fantasy tale. But one description has us concerned about the copywriter's grip on reality: “Based on the actual ring worn by the Witch King, the leader of the nine Ringwraiths, in The Fellowship of the Ring, the Ring of the Witch King has been crafted in solid sterling silver…” We hate to break it to you Ringers, but there can't be an “actual ring worn by the Witch King,” because The Lord of the Rings is fiction.

Wringwwraith swords wrock. I can see a difference in style between Glamdring and Anduril now that you've posted them, I withdraw my criticism. I have a shortbow, seven arrows, a dagger and a longsword and a cloak and that's enough for me. I use my swords and bow occasionally so I don't like to have more items than I can equip at once.

I didn't know you could buy such nice authentic looking replicas - the only things I've seen so far in the way of Lord of the Rings weapons merchandise are some really crappy looking plastic weapons. And they look more like accessories for Batman than something from Lord of the Rings.

And... your armoury is... EXCELLENT, Barend. I am insanely jealous.

United Cutlery makes them, they're the same company that made the weapons for the movie. The rings, necklaces and cloak clasps are harder to find but the swords are everywhere.
