The whole Jedi massacre does not even have to take place as you think.

First off, if you follow any of teh Clone Wars comics or books, they state that the Jedi have already lost a good portion of its force due to this war. The empire and Vader will be finishing off the weakened remains. In Ep3, They could bomb the temple, take out Mace, and then assume in the years after they pick off the few remaining ones.

Lucas reminds me of a great pitcher in the 1970's who inexplicably lost his fast ball around 1983, and has been getting by on name alone since.

going back to that torture scene... they didn't even ask any questions

i mean how cool was that... C3P0 gets blasted to peices, Luke looses his hand, and finds out the truth about his father, leah and han finnally get together only to be torn apart, han is betrayed by his best friend, a cool bounty hunter shows up, Vader kills half his officers looking for his son, we see a really cool city in the clouds, we learn more about hans past, we see luke getting trained, etc... so much happens...

Ep1, theres a pod race, the kid who wins it accidentally destroys the droid controll ship, some dude with cool facial tats kills someone we don't really know then gets killed...

there's a real drop in activity in the new ones...

Lucas really ought to go back and find as many living people as he can who were involved in writing and creating The Empire Strikes Back.

Then he should re-call all copies of the prequels and start again - after conveniently locking himself in a padded cell.

I think I might be alone on this one, but I personally would love to see
Darth Vader-NOT Anakin wipe out some of the remaining Jedi. Obviously, not the younglings, since it would be no match. But seeing Anakin in Vader form whipping on Windu, the bearded guy with the big head, and Kit Fisto would be awesome. As a matter of fact, if they dedicated the whole movie to that, it would be a perfect "10" in my book.

Now having General Grevious do it=asinine

No, you're definitely not alone there. And in the original Star Wars, Obi Wan pretty clearly said that it was Darth Vader who helped the Empire hunt down and destroy the Jedi knights. Sure he was keeping secret the fact that Vader and Anakin were the same person - but still....

well so far i've seen no sign of evil in anikan... just immature spaz attacks... maybe killing the kids will give the character a little more depth, texture and lovability...

On the contrary - he is an EVIL little shit. In fact, he is more evil than Darth Vader ever was. Sure Darth Vader killed people, but he never said "Oops!", "Yippee!" or "Obi Wan never lets me watch Friends and he always makes me clean my room before I leave the house and he never lets me stay out after 10 o'clock!"

He is simply not an appealing nor sympathetic character. It has been stated here ad nausem, but I will say it again. Everyone thought before the trilogy that Anakin was a good person at one time but became corrupted. It is very difficult to view him now as anything but a spoiled, creepy jerk. And that inevitable takes away from him redeeming himself at the end of ROTJ.

That might be the biggest failure of the new trilogy to date. Right after letting Lucas write and direct all three.

I think you're right - you've nailed Biggest Failings One and Two perfectly.

going back to the lava thing....

it would be justified to fight near a volcano if Anikan was there dumping all the jedi kids into it....

hmmm....

that would work for me, and make up for the fact that there were jedi kids to start off with.

yes, that will do nicley!!!:)
