Bush fund raising exceeds $200 million

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Bush has raked in at least $203 million for his re-election campaign, close to double what his likely Democratic rival has raised, according to a CNN review of the Bush-Cheney campaign's donor database.

The amount is more than double the then-record $100 million Bush raised for his 2000 White House bid.

I don't like either Bush or Kerry. And why do people need these guys to fly to their states to address them? Why do they need countless flyers and buttons?

Why do people fall in to sensationalistic eye candy? Can't they just address us once a month and tell us what the want to do, why they are doing it, and what they stand for.

Very true. $200 million is a lot of money and it can be put to a lot better uses than this.

for fuck's sakes, $300 million (i'm counting Kerry's lot) could end world hunger in our time! Or... a significant amount. America doesn't need a damn president, especially if it means it's people spending exorbitant amounts on people attempting to keep/earn what has become an ostensibly useless - well maybe not useless - functionally counter-productive occupation.

God damn... the system has become far too convoluted for anyone to make any significant headway in changing things for the better without them becoming cynical or giving in to the pressure etc.

Anyway, i've already said far more than i am qualified to say.

$200 million could be used to give America the social security system it so badly needs. It could be used to rebuild war-torn countries. It could be used for environmental restoration programs.

Yeah, there are probably millions of better things that money could be spent on.

If it's any consolation to the American citizens on this forum, the Prime Minister of Australia wastes millions of dollars too (although... nowhere near as much as Bush).
