QUOTE (Chyld @ Sep 2 2005, 06:36 PM)
But yeah, I am relativly serious about this idea. I've been turning it over in my mind for a while now, since nightlife in this town is pretty much dead. And hell, what else can I do with a Philosophy degree?

To quote; Sit around and have deep thoughts about being unemployed. but it's also a good thing too have for barman chatter.

Getting licencing is easy, but it's the red tape once you're running that'll drive you nuts. Fire safety, disabled access etc can send a sane man to his grave.

Best way around it's to apply to open a members bar, that way you can circumnavigate half the crap, ban the riff-raff, and have longer opening hours.

Best of luck to you though.

I want to go back to the films of the 80's, where plots were simple, and explosions happened regularly....

PRT#910442884b

we need three day weekends.

we'd get more work done in four days.
we'd be better rested.
it would cut down on pollution.
it would illiminate stress.

and it would be nice to have a day off that didn't touch on of those filthy working days.

So would you have Fridays or Mondays off?

Fridays would be more appropriate for all-day drinking sessions. But then you'd still have the problem of Monday mornings.

I think I'd take Mondays, purely for the fact it would mean I wouldn't be at work now.

Ah, three day weekends during school are great. Sadly I work the rest of the week.
Apparently writing about JM here is his secret weakness. Muwahaha!!!! Now I have leverage over him and am another step closer towards my goal of world domination.

"And the Evil that was vanquished shall rise anew. Wrapped in the guise of man shall he walk amongst the innocent and Terror shall consume they that dwell upon the Earth. The skies will rain fire. The seas shall become as blood. The righteous shall fall before the wicked! And all creation shall tremble before the burning standards of Hell!" - Mephisto

Kurgan X showed me this web comic done with Legos. It pokes fun at all six Star Wars films and I found it to be extremely entertaining.

I've got a three day weekend - It rocks!
Though some buggers have four day weekends.
And I have to study sea monsters in my weekend anyway between digging fossils.

Sea monsters rock, though I wish they wouldn't mess around with the bloody names.

Now we only need a name for the pub.. Any ideas? wink.gif

The Nightlife, Chefelf's Pub, The Dancing Fell Beast... biggrin.gif

And I feel so left out when you guys talk about opening a business... Maybe it's some psycological stuff, and it probably is, but I feel like that sometimes. Friends are going off to have fun without me.

And don't offer me a job out of pity, the only thing I'd probably be good for is (maybe) manager or beer pourer, and you two would have the manager thing covered.

Sunday is Procrastination Day!
Head Gunner for the Royal Sloop Crimson Steel, Queen of the Dead, Instigator of Chaos and Confusion, Knight of the Grand Recursive Order of the Lambda Calculus, and also The Non.

Remember Emu's face, people; one day it's going to be on the news alongside a headline about blowing some landmark to smithereens, and then we can all sigh and say, "She was such a normal person".....
....We'd be lying though.

Nice

I think of Sunday as free day. Generally slated for recovery, or just plain lazing about.
The Green Knight, SimeSublime the Puffinesque, liker of chips and hunter of gnomes.
