Anyone know what those are? They grow like crazy, so they might be an invasive species from Europe. They have black, round, berries that grow in clusters like sumac and slightly less like grapes, since they're about three quarters of a centimeter in diameter and it's a narrower cluster. But it has a frame, if you take the berries off, you can see where they were. They have very sturdy stems about two centimeters wide at the bottom, thinner at the top, and few large leaves a bit longer and narrower than birch leaves. They get to be about four feet tall, if you let them, but usually they're about two and a half.
Edit: Oh, and if you mash them in your fingers, you find out that they have a lot of seeds and bright purple/pink juice that stains. And hurts a lot if you get it in cuts.

Although I was under the impression that poison sumac gave you a poison ivy-type rash if you touched it. At the very least, it's not a good idea to eat the berries.
But they do make a very pretty pink ink. I wonder if it'll make the paper rot.

Yes, sumac leaves a rash, or at least should make you feel itchy. Don't know what the berries are though.
