Hmmm, I remember having a Japanese curry once in Japan. That was rather sweet, and I didn't mind that at all. But I find it hard to belive that Jane has never heard of curry prior Red Dwarf. It's the cornerstone of Indian food, as far as I can tell. I've heard rumours that Americans are rather non-adventurous in terms of food, but not hearing about curries?

Dude...I've lived in Louisiana since I was eleven...these people live off spicy food. All the Cajuns live here, remember? I'm not sure if Indian food is really the focus around here...

Although as far as the unadventurous bit goes, that is indeed true when applied to me, at least. No matter where I go, I never stray from burgers and fries. I had heard of curry before, but I thought it was just a seasoning or something.

A seasoning that unfortunately gave me a very bad case of hives. Damn allergies.

Ahh, fair enough. I, too, don't eat much variety. Not because I don't want to, but I was cursed with a great disgust for most food. Its a real pain in the ass, know that whenever you go to dinner at somebodys house, chances are you won't like what the serve and just have to put up with it out of politeness. Infact, I only know one person who's a fussier eater then me, and she's a lactose intolerant diabetic vegitarian. I have no idea what she eats.

Curry powder is this nifty red stuff that I put in soup sometimes because it makes a sore throat go away. wink.gif

I'm not much of a curry man, but I keep encountering chilli con carne at every possible juncture. My dads started making it again, for a start. And I went down to the pub the other week, and took part in a pub quiz. What was incorporated in the entry price? A bowl of chilli. Bite me.

Stupid random thought (may contain sarcasm) -

It never ceases to amaze me that when it comes to selecting a private 4-digit PIN number, EVERYBODY chooses exactly the same one...

4 astericks in a row - * * * * cool.gif

Slightly less stupid random thought (comparative to the first one) -

Just as there are straw people on posts in the middle of farms to scare away the crows, I believe this could be useful for other purposes. The most obvious is putting shop dummies all over the roads, dressed up as policemen, equipped with fake radar guns.

As the former invention is called the scarecrow, the latter shall be called the scaredriver. smile.gif

Oh, I don't know anyone like that. I know someone who's allergic to bread, though...

JYAMG: Brilliant idea! Maybe you could get regular cops to do the same things just to throw people off!

I have my own use for straw, though. Every Halloween I sit in front of my door in a hooded costume that covers everything with a big bowl of candy on my lap, and then stick the straw in my sleeves and around my hood so anyone passing by would just think it was a straw dummy. Then when the little trick-or-treaters go to empty the bowl like greedy little bastards, I latch onto their wrist, hiss or scream something, and scare the hell out of them!

Nothing like the screams of the innocent to raise one's spirits! laugh.gif

Jane, that idea is one of the coolest things I've ever heard of. Just wish I could see it in action. Perhaps a friend could film it and put it up on the internet maybe. That is fantastic! biggrin.gif

And it's fun too! One time I made some little girl's dad scream instead. laugh.gif I had to miss doing it last year because of band, and my mother said there were actually a couple of kids that were disappointed because "they wanted to see the witch."

Slade: All I ever saw her eating were jelly beans.

On the topic of the fake police, they actually did something similar here. On the bus stops there is large ads stuck up, and one of them had a life sized picture of a police officer holding up a speed camera, and the caption said 'next time it may be the real thing'. Used to freak me out.

Ah, that's what I'm talking about. It makes drivers worry about getting busted so much that everyone would just drive carefully out of paranoia.
