I think that's something entirely different...I'm not sure, I've never heard that before...

Actually, Niflhiem is only one half of the Norse underworld. I forget what the other half is called though. Niflhiem is frozen, the other half is molten, and its all ruled over by Hel, daughter of Loki, if I remember correctly.

I must read Dante's Inferno sometime. I've always been meaning to.

public television, in 1990 broadcast the four operas that make up Wagner's The Ring of the Niebelung, on successive nights (M-th) so it was like a mini-series (interesting, viewable.) Loki was in the first opera: Das Rhiengold, but I really didn't know who he was otherwise. I've always wanted to study mythology and am keenly interested.

If things turn up in many different sources, written by people who had no contact with each other, then that's a strong argument in their favour.

Dammit! I knew I was forgetting something! It's been far too long since I've pursued any of my own personal academic interests. I wasn't able to do anything I usually would for the entire school year because this time I was focusing on my actual assignments, and now I just can't be arsed...

ALSO: I just got series one and two of Red Dwarf on DVD in the mail today! Yay! I'm already through series one, commentary, the smeg-ups, the deleted scenes, "Launching Red Dwarf" documentary, and the trailer. On to series two (then I can go back and finish everything else)! I love new obsessions!

If only I could find transcripts for series eight...

New obsessions are good. It's nice to get into something different.

I'm waiting on getting RD seasons 3 and 4 myself. I've just started re-watching the first season whilst I eat lunch. And guest, when you read Dante's Inferno, make sure you get a copy with some sort of notes, as if you aren't fluent with medievil english, it's a real bastard to understand. Even with the notes, its not that easy. That's why I haven't gotten around to reading the second two yet.

According to a new decree about spending my own money, I can't get series three and four until Christmas (unless I go behind my mother's back to buy them, but that would cost about twenty to thirty dollars more than ordering it). So all I have until then are the first two series, and the transcripts.

I have come to the conclusion that college budgets suck. If only I had looked into this while I was still in high school...if only I had an actual job...
