All they really have to do is put a damn bucket shapped mesh-cage over it. Simple physics really. That way the "event horizon" can't make direct contact with anyone in a dangerous manner.

$10 worth of aluminium could flawlessly prevent further infant disembowelings.

Fair enough.
Also, that is the best possible adjective to describe what happened. biggrin.gif

Admit it. It was that and that alone that placated you.

I feel awful for that poor girl. She had her whole life ahead of her... only to have it go down the drain (pun unintended).

Thanks to jm HOfmarn

Well... that sucks.
TITLE NOTE: 'To drop one's guts' as it were, is an Australian euphamism for breaking wind. It was the least offensive and insesensative title I was able to concoct.

The funny thing about this is: my mother always warned me of being too close to the pool drain.

I have never thought about getting anything sucked into a pool drain. All of the pools I've been in that I can remember have passive drain systems. The water floods in on its own accord and is shot back out the bottom. Water jets are fun in conjunction with pool toys. I'll surely beware the pool drains now, until owners get off of their asses stop being so hazardously lazy and put a safety measure in... Damn. It's hard not to make a pun about this story. sad.gif I have deepest sympathy for this poor little girl. An intestinal tract is essential to a healthy, happy, relatively normal human life, and a horrible accident has ruined that chance.

In complete honesty, can one donate ones intestines as part of an organ donation? I would willingly give mine away when I no longer need them, and with diseases like Chron's, they would be surely needed. I guess the cleaning process would be unpleasant to say the least.

Cobnat: Good for your mother, and for you.

Edit: Spelled Chron's disease correctly.

Maybe they could take the intestines from the people responsible for being lazy. Then other pool managers or installers would think twice about using economics like this.

The image finally sunk in of a little girl with her innards being pulled out of her ass. Why did you even make a thread about this?
