I've never heard of it. When in the movie is it mentioned?
during the fight scenes that take place on the street level in los angeles, its in the background
"freedom is the right of all sentient beings"

I think the main argument against this film is:
"It's absolutely nothing fucking like the original cartoon"
Which means that Transformers Fanboys like myself will hate it, but most other people will like it.

The only people saying that are obviously getting transformers mixed up robotech, the gobots (machine men), or possibly voltron.
I don't know what fucking cartoon everyone else was watching, but this movie felt like the transformers to me, and I watched it religiously.

If by basher, you mean somebody who tries very hard to find flaws in everything, then yes.
That's a terrible way to live one's life. I don't do that at all. I'm not that negative. The Star Wars prequels had flaws that just jumped off the screen and raped my face.

My biggest issue is that I absolutely dispise directors who think action sequences are at their best when the camera is "up close and personal". I thought Batman Begins was a good movie, but the fighting sequences near the end made me dizzy, ultimately making me lose respect for the movie.
I like my action to feel a little more real. Having been in serious fights most films just don't deliver the goods. I suppose when don't know what's it like you prefer to watch it all like the dude in the high seat at the tennis. And that's fair enough. Personally I think this move was a job for James Cameron, but after Titanic and his not doing Terminator 3 (or 4) the guy has moved on from sci-fi action you'll watch a million times.... wait. Aw crap... how awsome would that have been. With Bill Paxton and Michael Biehn and the crew...
anyway...

I saw Live Free or Die Hard prior to Transformers, and expected it to be a "big dumb action film", and it was awesome. The lines "Are you a fan of the Fett?" followed by Bruce Willis' reply of "No, I'm more of a Star Wars fan" was priceless. Transformers was also really long. By the time the major action sequences were occuring, the movie was already two hours long and I was beginning to lose interest.
I took a little nap during the boring bit, on the second session. It's a part of the process to make things obscure early on though... by the end of the film you could see more, you just needed more alert eyes.
They have little reason to obscure anything in the second one though, and I'm sure, given the concensus, that someone will purchase Bay a tripod as a hint.
The other trick during the quiet bits is to stare at Miss Fox's tits and ass.
But unless the next movie is 80% action, she'll need to be wearing a lot less.

That's a rather extreme way of putting it, you have to admit...

I was watching it thinking "when are they going to get to the fireworks factory?". I mean, in a film called 'Transformers', where on earth were they?
The bad guys didnt show up until the last 20 minutes and then I couldn't tell them apart- christ, paint Starscream bright pink if you have to, but who the hell is who?
Too much superfluous crap like the hacking rubbish (just why? what did it add? At least the 'hide the autobots scene' helped to humanise the robots a bit), not enough robots, too confusing during the fights, the expositiory dialogue was laughably bad, BUT I did enjoy it more or less overall.
I wont see it again, but I will see a sequel.

Couldn't stand Anthony Anderson, and I really wish the soldiers had left the film after the chopper took them back home. Other than that, it was fun.
Definitely did not need Anthony Anderson in the film.

Other than the fact that he told us what we already knew
he was useless and steretypical.
Yes because he's black he has to talk the way he does
and say things like

on her carpets, especially cops"

yeeeesssss....finally! im glad im not the only one out there that is realizing that anthony anderson's role in TF was useless. its almost like he is on good terms with either Bay or Spielberg (maybe both), and heard that the movie was going to be made and cried, whined, and threw a temper tantrum that he wanted a part in the film.
so they basically made him a bullshit role just to cast him for film credits that he can add to his pathetic resume.
it surprises me that anthony anderson has been cast in as many films as he has,..he is useless...he isnt funny at all...not the first time i hear his lame jokes,.not the 1,000th time i hear them...he sucks.
i mean..what gives? seriously??...i thought the film industry was all about showcasing talent and dubbing it prime entertainment (no TF pun intended using "prime")...but it looks like the film industry has taken the shallow and low path of its cousin, the music industry.

Peter Brady was by far the ugliest Brady kid on the "Brady Bunch". I mean, they were all pretty ugly, and the fact that the Brady dad wanted to always take the boys out on overnight camping trips just a tad bit too often, gave me the creeps.
