I know what youre thinking!....WHY?.... Why would they even care to make a 4th installment after the 3rd one failed miserably, right?

well, money is the lifeforce of hollywood..and where money is to be made, films are to made to get that money.

but to the fans, it means more.,.much more.

Ive read now that Terminator 4 has been officially announced and is now in its beginning stages of production. Ive read that Edward Furlong is talking with producers to see if he can reprise his role as John Connor. (would be interesting, as Nick Stahl looks nothing like Furlong). Ive even read fans proposing the idea of Robert Patrick coming back as a good T-1000 for the 4th film. but to me, that idea has been worn out already. Ive read that Stahl and Danes have said they wont reprise their roles, but contradiciting that ive also read that Danes said she would be in t4 if enough fans wanted her to be in it.

gossip, gossip, gossip,..oh what to believe??

it seems arnie is too old this time around for the lead role, but a cameo may be doable. i cant fathom an arnie cameo. what would be a possible basis for an arnie cameo? some sort of dream sequence a la judgment day's kyle cameo? i see everywhere that many are thinking The Rock or vin diesel would be a good choice for a terminator. i think that guy from the film "crank" may also be good too.

there better be a damn good storylne this time around. i had high hopes for 12 years for t3, and they were all shot down in july of 2003. but i remain somewhat optimistic for this 4th film. this could be mostow's golden chance at redeeming himself, if he is doing his homework..learning from his mistakes. hopefully the script theyve concocted and are guarding like a coveted gemstone is something that will shine brightly next summer. i hope so. you hope so. we all hope so. if mostow and vajna mess up t4,.its over,.its all over. no chance at t5 ever. hasta la vista, baby,,bye bye. done deal.

maybe, just maybe,.if things work out right, they can get james cameron back. if not to direct himself, at least guide mostow in the right direction every step of the way. also get furlong, patrick, and maybe find some way to write hamilton back into the script. i hate how films will simply write in death as being the automatic answer for why a certain actor/actress choice not to reprise their role. its like, the lazy answer for a writer. "oh,...they died,..thats why they arent here". its a weak excuse, and i hate it.

i read some interesting excerpts from this website:

http://www.slashfilm...tor-4-announced

here are some things of interest on this site.....

"None of the cast is coming back," Stahl told SciFi Wire in early 2005. "The T4 story is changing conceptually. I believe it's a jump to the future, so my character will be quite a bit older. That's all that I know. So I'm not coming back, which is a drag."

stahl states "quite a bit older". this could possibly hint at the movie being set in the year 2029.

John Brancato told Latino Review in 2004. "Again, they made me actually sign things that I would not leak. As much as I would like to brag about the script, I can't really tell you."

yeah, im betting my chips that a script will leak out onto the internet before the film is even released. you know how trustworthy some of those guys are that work in close knit in the film industry. they find the coveted script, and when no one is looking, they find a printer machine. easy as cheese.

I could prepare a huge long rant, deriding the whole cash cow, how Arnie may well have made the series, yada yada yada, but three words answer everything.

So. Not. Nessersary.

NoOooOOOoooOOOooOOOoOOooOOO

Can't even fathom this
The Rock as Terminatior so wrong

Vin Diesel, even worse

And Jason Stathom.... really?
it's like worse then the fact there

will be an Indy 4 or a Pirates 4 or
Eddie Murphy still thinking he's cool and

that it's possible to do a Beverly Hills Cop 4
What's with the 4!!!!!!

3 is a perfectly good number!
I... can't ....oh and awful just

the only movie series i can think of where number 4 was awesome would be the Star Wars saga: Episode IV: a new hope. Ok,.many of you are saying that its technically the first in the series. and that number four was a sheer stinker: The phantom menace.

yeah, well,.i guess number four just seems to be this exhausted chapter. its like, you told pretty much the story you need to tell in 6 hours..no need to go to 8 hours.

The REason they need a 4th one is BECAUSE the 3rd one failed. THe story can't end on that kind of a sour note. If they throw the same tired plot device in the garbage, and write a fresh storyline about john connor fighting the terminators, then it could be pretty damn good.

Another thing, the terminator films don't need Arnold. He shouldnt have even been in the 3rd one. the reason it sucked is because they wrote the story around his character coming back, instead of writing something that would make more sense as a third installment.

and a sidenote, i really really liked the ending of T3. if the movie was more like that, it would have been much much better.

yeah. fathom this though, if the rock did take the role, youd have this terminator walking around scanning everything with this uplifted brow over his right eye.

Absolutely true, my friend, absolutely true. See dem nuclear rockets launch and know that everything's going down the gutter... hell yeah, that was the kind of feeling that should have been created throughout the whole movie.

Well, I've already said enough about this in at least two other threats now, so no point in whoring for posts this time. Let me just sit here in my corner and pray for Edward Furlong's glorious comeback.

what we will never see again is the good on-screen chemistry that Schwarzenegger and Hamilton had that made T2 rock.

It's only the ending of T3 that keeps me excited for the 4th one. that and the first two. and they never should have made arnold the good guy. BAd Arnold is unbeatable. that is why the original terminator movie kicked ass.

Shame on your pessimistic attitude, good can come out of anything.....except getting kicked in the balls, that pretty much blows.

um,.they both kicked ass. the first one seems a bit dated (well, it is actually, coming up 25 years almost)

Ahnuld is badass as a bad guy or a good guy. hes quite the talent, and can do both roles with absolute finesse (especially when guided by the right film director)

T1 and T2 kicked ass because James Cameron kicks ass. nuff said.
