They say the whole reason for the scene where Luke is mauled by by the Wampa/snow monster in the opening was to explain why Luke looked different in ESB than he had in ANH (because of Mark Hamill's car accident). And yet, watching ESB a few nights ago, I noticed that the Wampa did not actually hit him in the face, the Wampa hit him more in the back of his head. This means the back of Luke's head should be bloodied and not his face, yet we see cuts from the Wampa claws.

You found yet another inconsistanty. Maybe Lucas will digitally make it all better again? They should have just got it right the first time.
Do you think it was laziness?

Dont you ever credit Lucas with ESB!! Ever! ESB was a masterpiece because of Lawrence Kasdan and Irvin Kershner.
It seems like everyone is over the nitpicking. Too bad.

I didn't really credit him with it. I know about Irvin Kershner and all of that. Not going to admit he is perfect though, because everyone can get lazy.
It is Lucas who tells the animators what to digitally alter/replace. That's what I meant. He could change it.

If Lucas was going to alter it, he would have done so already.

there's two thing wrong with this argument...
1. hitting him in the back of the head means he had to land ON his face.
2. he was dragged to the cave.
that and glueing someone to the ceiling without dropping them on his face a few times would be hard.
