How come Dubya was voted in for a second term?

Because he's awesome!

The TPM era government was inefficient (and how do you know how it was run 100 years ago let alone 20,000?), thats why they voted Palpatine in so quickly.

'Inefficient'? Now there's an excellent candidate for 'Understatement of the Millennium'. Not to mention that many of the Republic's problems (such as its complete lack of any sensible procedures to deal with the TF trade blockade, let alone prevent a situation like that from happening in the first place) are clearly the result of long-term inattention, whether over 100 years or 20,000. Going by the way it functioned in TPM, it's an absolute miracle that it managed to last even one year.

I repeat: I am absolutely serious about this. I could, quite literally, have written my final year dissertation on all the problems with the Republic's political system (I wish I had, in fact; it would have been a much more interesting subject than EU immigration policy). Yes, I know it's fun to joke about how our own governments are worse, ha ha - but the truth is that in reality, none of them even begin to approach the levels of incompetence, ineptitude and sheer goddamn stupidity shown by the Republic Senate.

QUOTE
And even an inefficient government is not the same as a government who murders millions and keeps power throiugh fear now is it. Come on.

No, it isn't. Because a government as 'inefficient' as that we see in the Prequels wouldn't be a government; it would very quickly collapse into a vicious, anarchic free-for-all, where those who do have military power (large corporations and private individuals, by the looks of things) would stomp all over those who didn't (the Republic itself and, er, planetary governments). This ought to have happened during TPM, if not long before; the only thing that prevented it was a Deus Ex Machina kid blowing up a ship in that film, and a Deus Ex Machina clone army in the next.

The sandpeople had women and children. We know this because Anakin killed them how could he tell? The children might be smaller but I never saw a sandperson with breasts. Did they hike their skirts and show him some leg or something?

Also, I can see the point of wanting to kidnap a human and use her as a slave, but they didn't. They tied her to a flimsy easel for a month. It's assumed they had to feed and give her water. What for? Was she purely ornamental? I can understand them wanting the droids, you can sell those for a lot of money, but a chick who's only skills are finding non-existand mushrooms and getting randomly pregnant, you're not going to get much.
