Easily one of the characters who's really not pleasant on the eyes let alone how he acts on the screen, it must have taken some time to design Jar Jar. I wonder how manyand whether there are people from the ILM design team today who are still proud of their 'accomplishment'.

The character is annoying in parts (although I like what Lucas did with him in AotC), but it seems churlish to say he was "badly designed".

I don't think its a bias, the character is very off putting from the first appearance onscreen, and 'velcro' for why TPM sucked. I wonder how many ILMers bit thier lower lip around GL when he was saying how great the character looked and acted whereas Jar Jar reeks of stereotypes and unease in every scene he's in.

I like jar jar in some respects. For example his brief interaction with c3p0 on tatooine was funny. If they would would have left out all of his slapstick gags, he would have been mildly enjoyable.

You should watch the German version then-... uhh... no, forget about that. It's even worse here... "Michse können sprechen!"... I'll never forget how I longed for a switchblade when I heard that sentence...

I disagree. The ridiculous Jamaican dialect interwoven with New SW hipness has to be ugh-sperienced in the Original English version. I mean, how suave can that creature be allowed to be, and not change the character of the role?
