QUOTE (Jejef Thgaron @ Apr 29 2006, 08:35 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
The fact is that you can't stop death, so it is pointless to even try to stop the inevitable. Ecclesiastes wasn't talking of immortality. It's like saying, "Shit happens" - but you can't stop it, so don't bother... it's gonna happen.

Glad you caught it! Barend, I must say, you do have a knack for excelling where others fail.

the fact IS that you can't stop death, therefore it is pointless to attempt to do so. but you you wrote; "it is pointless to stop death" which i found funny because it implied that it WAS possible to stop death, but that it was a pointless endevor.

i just found that funny and couldn't help myself.

((note: I agree about spanking kids... it is better a child recieve a spanking for dissobedience about playing on the road, than being being run over by someone who thought it was a good idea to own a 4WD in an urban area))

Touche! Isn't it usually people who own 4x4's in an urban area that use any method but spanking on their children? They're usually vegetarians, too...

No offense to vegetarians, and vegans, but cows are vegetarians, too. Guess what I'm eating after all the cows run out. biggrin.gif Eat up, vegetarians!

I do not understand what you mean by serial. I am not a publisher in that sense, but I do collect information, that interests me. Perhaps being serial in wondering what could happen.

Of course it worked for you, Abbey. You're hot! tongue.gif Also, you must have propositioned the right type of girl - it doesn't work for even half of them, I promise. Ya gotta at least buy them flowers first! biggrin.gif

Are you a queer too Spoona? How come the only girls this forums attracts are gay!?

You have to see the 'Al Gore' episode of South Park to understand. I'm being super serial. The ManBearPig would agree.

...but to the argument at hand.

the someone for eveyone theory is not shot down by Civ#2, spoon, nor abby, but by the absurdity of such a notion in this civilisation. The saying probably had some grounding back in the day when men and women we'rent obbsessed with consatanly trying "to do better".

if someone loved you, you'd be happy but sadly in this day and age love is not enough... in fact its rarley a contributing factor, for while many claim they wish for someone who cares for them, who makes them laugh, etc. etc. they really just one someone who looks good and will make their friends jelous....

in a society where this is the ethos of 90% + of the people, i think that notion of yours died in the ass...

no amount of arguing is going to bring it back. you found someone... good for you, hold on to her if you care about her because its a rareity for many...

there is a whole world out there that you know nothing about, there's a dark fucking underbelly, that a lot of people will never know about and insist upon forcing their opinions on us as if it were gospel... and it takes a will of iron to not burden people with the truth of the world when you know they don't want to hear it...

but right now i'm telling you you're wrong, and there are alot of people who a pretty bitter about the state of affairs the resulted from tha hand that life delt them, and are powerless to do anything about it depsite their fiercest attepts... and if you should ever cram that blind optomistic proporganda in their face they will not react as charitabley as we have, as most of the people here have done okay or are too young for it to be a real concearn yet...

but your bright happy world were wonderful thing are all within reach, is a loverly place that you cannot see out of and not everyone is so fortunate to be invited.

the very fact that people think everything is okay is an insult to those for whom it is not, as it means that one can clearly not appreciate what they have if they have no understanding of how many are forced to go without.

i doubt they're vegitarians... the idea of vegitarian calling me a murderer and driving an anti-child tank would just send me into a fit of rage from which none would recover...

but there area lot of 4WDs out there that have no right to be... and they are making the world a dangerous place for everyone else.

and you just cant explain that to some kids...

although there are some kids out there who should be stoned for their godless misbehaviour and disrespect.

Sorry I do not watch South Park, including other cartoons because of intolerance to certain combinations of colours. I may understand if you explain it clearly or defining an opposite for "parallel" as well.

If robots are "not meant to have feelings" according to some people, why do certain combinations of colours irritate me?

Mistaking me for an old person: If I was that old, I might have important things to do and no free time to spend.

I agree with Civ because I agree with Civ. My own reasoning brings me to the same conclusion his does, BEFORE EVEN READING HIS POST. If you had said what Civ said, I would agree. It has nothing to do with who says what. Take your head out of your ass for a second and actually read a post. No, I didn't want to spend the effort arguing with you. Because it's pointless and I have better things to do. Like my school work, hang with friends, etc. When I know my arguing isn't going to do shit, why waste time throwing words up on a computer screen like I have no life? And fuck yes you have twisted my words around every time I post. Can someone back me up? Who else thinks Jejef twists people's words around?
And if you honestly think two people can't agree on something without being a "follower," then I don't know what to tell you, other than, just your being a Christian makes you a BIG TIME follower, based on that logic.

And no, Cobnat, I'm not gay. But I can recognize when a chick is hot, and have no qualms against saying so.

Edit: Pre-modded for Slade's convenience

I am writing about Jm in my signature because apparently it's an effective method of ignoring him.

i would agree that jejef twists words, but what what he does is something else... he selects a few words in a row out of context and applies them to his orriginal point;

jejef: cats are stupid
abby: no they're not
jejef: the sky is blue
abby: i agree
jejef: cats are stupid and as you said; "i agree."

that sort of thing is below the quality one comes to expect from word twisting.

"When a chicken is hot, I eat it, not to run it over."

Well if there is something for someone, I am just thinking of a balance for "someone for everyone" and "something for everyone."

For shops and commercialism, could it be also "Something for every child?"

Thanks, Spoon. It's nice to know that some people actually take the time to read posts more than once and not spout off angry insults. thumbsup.gif

Cobnat, I want none of that here. Leave DS alone. You can be heterosexual and still note the opposite sex being pretty. Case in point: Icey. I think he's pretty, but I am heterosexual.

Jejef: First of all, it's absurd to say "Prove me wrong." and sit back and laugh at people who try. The burden of proof lies with the one postulating the theory, not with everyone else. I can just as easily ask you to prove that an invisible pink unicorn doesn't live in the Amazon jungle following the same logic.

Secondly, just because someone can put forth a better, more coherent, more relevent argument than you, and that people agree with what he said because they found themselves drawing the same conclusions in different words does not make them "silly monkeys," and thanking that person for being more articulate in explaining those points in an efficient manner does not count as "ass-kissing." I'm more than a little miffed at your constant harassment of everyone who disagrees with you, and I'll ask you kindly, once more, to stop. If you feel the need to mock and belittle everyone who disagrees with you, and if we're all a bunch of ass-kissing silly monkies, you should just leave instead of staying here and insulting us. Let us live in our happy fun land where sad clouds make the sky blue.
