The Emperor Fighting? Does it make sense?

Let me get back to you on this
Actually, I liked the whole double-dealing aspect of it. Especially between Dooku and Palps.
"And the Evil that was vanquished shall rise anew. Wrapped in the guise of man shall he walk amongst the innocent and Terror shall consume they that dwell upon the Earth. The skies will rain fire. The seas shall become as blood. The righteous shall fall before the wicked! And all creation shall tremble before the burning standards of Hell!" - Mephisto
Kurgan X showed me this web comic done with Legos. It pokes fun at all six Star Wars films and I found it to be extremely entertaining.

Star Wars hype for the prequels WAS extreme. I would have thought that the sheer mediocrity of Episode I (as anything more than a visual FX fest, to say nothing as the definitive beginning of THE SAGA) would have prepared people for the disappointment, but we all held on hoping it would get better. Judging by the numbers and the reviews, it actually did (why didn't Episode I get a Razzie, but AOTC did? Probably the same reason ROTK got awards that the previous two LOTR movies didn't... critics are slow to catch on).
So yes, the new movies could "never" live up to the reputation and hype set by the first trilogy (then again there are plenty of folks I see online saying that ROTS is "the best SW ever"). But that still doesn't justify making a half-a$$ed effort.
It's also not solely based on it steamrolling over the EU (though that I think is a rather large factor, perhaps even larger than the above, but after the shock of Episode I people should have assumed that was going to be the norm)...
It definately causes some problems with the OT, throws in some seemingly contrived crap we never thought of (like the Stormtroopers being clones of Boba Fett's dad, Anakin building C-3PO, midichlorians, Obi-Wan being a self-deluded pathological liar even more than he was before, Owen/Beru/Obi-Wan/Anakin suddenly aging rapidly, etc) and certainly Lucas never gave any indication of until he made the new movies... and all the changes to the new editions of the OT don't really do jack to fix these problems.
The other problem is the overreliance on CG (CG itself isn't bad, but when it seems like he spent more time on the visual FX than on good direction of the actors and development of the characters, that's a problem) which many point out. The CG is great, it's just that it will look dated after a few years and then it will have to survive based on the substance of the storytelling and characters (will we honestly care about cartoon Jar Jar in 20 years like we cared about rubber Yoda?).
And yes, finally, the bland acting performances and such, from decent actors we know are capable of better (and great actors who were underused).
There's plenty of reasons to "hate" the prequels, I was just referring to the ones in this conversation that I thought were the issue.
I don't wise to unfairly caricature anyone's position. I know everybody has a different take on this stuff...

I don't know... if i were a sith i would want any one under me who was just going to kill me in my sleep one day when he thought he was powerful enough.
i'd hire bounty hunters to kill a bunch of wookies one by one and save the wookies lives so they'd all swear a life-bebt-oath to me. (and take my credits back from the dead bounty hunters) then i'd make them die their fur black (so we'd be a matching crew) and have droids as technicians/physicians only.
I'd only use mercinarys on short specific jobs and wouldn't have them follow me around. And i'd kill anyone who asked to join my group, no matter how cool their armour looked.
and that's the kind of sith i'd be.
i would have settled for 'near enough' but we didn't even get that.
as for living up to... well when you think about it, with all the advances we've made in film making (not talking about CGI, but yes there's that too) techniques, directors who have gotten tear provoking performances from even the worst actors, physical special effects, set designers, audioanimatronics, George Lucas having more time to expand his ideas and 20 years of personal improvement time, things we've learned about science adn other worlds and space, etc.
the PTs should have been superior films
THAT is what makes it so damn pitiful.
the only time i'd go for a stab is by pointing my LS at someone before switching it in

But I didn't like the way it all played out. At the beginning Palpatine makes an attempt to flee, then a few seconds later he's so self-confident that he laughs all the time. During every fighting scene he laughs, most annoying. A large rotating objects is coming towards him and he's still laughing....
Yoda tries to get close for a lightningsabre duel and when he finally gets there he can't even hold on to his lightsabre (and don't tell me the forcelightning was too powerful cause we just saw Windu hold on to his sabre).
And another thing. If it is so easy for these Jedi/Sith to forcepush eachother, why even use sabres. Doku could lift ObiWan, forcechoke him and then slam him towards the wall for christ sake...
Was it really hard for Obi-Wan or Anakin to forcepush the other into the lava?

The rule of two sith is retarded
The sith had previously ruled the galaxy with a very hard oppression.
Are you telling me theat they did it with only two people?
please, even palpatine needed vader and all those stormtroopers....plus the death star.
the rule of two is little more than some "cool" ( use that term lightly) sounding , slightly prophetic sounding line the make it seem like there was more to it.

What I don't get, if the Sith are so back-stabby and manipulative against the masters, what difference does it make if there is one or a bajillion Sith. I mean, are all Sith so stupid to just kill each other when a really smart Sith, or a whole bunch of really smart Siths know that there is "strength in numbers?" I mean, after all, supposedly, there's this deep rooted "vengeance" in the heart of every Sith, you'd think they'd at least have that in common? Enough to unify them for at least a short while to accomplish the goal of eradicating all of the Jedi, and supposedly the galaxy is so huge, there's enough to spread around.
I don't know, I just can't and never will swallow the "Rule of Two" crap.
*But I guess, in a galaxy where the Jedi are pretty stupid, then so must be their enemies....

Battle for the Galaxy--read the "other Star Wars"
All I know is I haven't seen the real prequels yet.
