it's alot more proffitable to provide medication that makes the symptoms of long lasting ailments/illness almost bareable for the rest of someones life than it is to just give them the cure.
just as it is more proffitable to have us use all the things that cause cancer than to have us live longer without petrol powered cars, coal power plants, mobile phones, and all microwave transmitting devices that are more "convinient" than cable transmission.
