Hi I'm new and I want to post into why I shake my fist at george lucas and curse the fact he is the consumate conman who took my money.

I remember the days before TPM came out. I outsourced my buying a ticket for it to a geek friend with less of a life then I did. I remember hanging out with the people waiting in line to see the movie

and..... I even liked TPM, like it better then the rest of the bleech.

But the problem came along the road to the second movie

Jake Lloyd who was to young for the role of anakin in the later films got cast aside. I remember the thing about sequals that...ya know... make them good is that you have a set of charecters you've had mad cap mis-adventures with and you have a reason to go along and suspend disbelief

The prequals were really dependent on the role of Anakin Skywalker.... And I lost my main reason to care about him-a new actor-

so then AoTC came out and Hayden was acting... and his acting was terrible (and sub par compaired to his other work) but the thing that struck me was his acting wasn't always terrible. for an isolated few moments here and there it was working but in my mind I imagined George Lucas with an old timey directors BullHorn giving out Direction

"Hayden you need to whine more"
"Hayden you now need to do a random 180 turn in charecter"

and whats worse.... Anakin in this movie did not become the central figure. So I now have an actor who I have no reason to invest in and once more, I have no reason to care about his becoming Darth Vader

I dreaded the movie because I knew I would hate it. But why did I see it you ask? well I'll tell you. Because my Dad told my mom when I was a wee infant to drag me along to the theater to watch it so she could see the movie. At this point the movie and me had history... and kind of like it is when you know your going to dump your girlfriend, just not when I went in to see the movie

And I was shocked, the Poor charecterization continued. The turn to the darkside had no inner charecter justification. Anakin never became the hero, or even the important figure.

The flaws of episode III were in all the other movies but its summed up to me like this

It was all meaningless. The republic fell, the empire rose, a semi-hero fell and none of it had any pathos, any emotion, or any reason to be

I hear stories of a Post Episode III and Pre Episode IV tv show... and I know if Lucas makes it I will watch at least the first few episodes.... and I know it will make my inner child cry.
I only hope some day after George Lucas is in the cold cold ground some one can remake the movies but into an integrated saga of 6 "books" which will make my inner fanboy happy

and I hope I can see that before I die.... or am regenerated with cloning

welcom aboard by the way...

yeah, there's nothing quite so violating as watching someone take the most important part of childhood and defile it...

if i could spend a week as a child again, i'd choose to stay at michael jackson's Neverlan ranch before i spent a minute at skywalker ranch.
