Everyone on king of the hill is stupid, using prejudiced views on texas. It's hardly ever funny, and bobby irritates the hell out of me as well.

Yeah, that damn Bobby put an awful steriotype on fat kids everywhere. I got skinny just to distance myself from that image.

I didn't know Captain Marvel had even had an animated series. I know he had "relatives" but I didn't know he had an animated series outside of an appearance on Justice League Unlimited.

My bad, I'm thinking of the comics. I always wondered why the big red cheese never fraternized with supes (when I read the comics in the 1970s.)

There WAS a 70s live action show, as I presume you're aware of, which had a 90 second animated portion where Billy listened to "the Elders". But the show wasn't a cartoon per se.

1. why is captain marvel wearing the flash's shirt?

2. the robot from battle of the planets always semed a little dodgy to me... especially when i think back to the arguments that often cropped up between jason and mark, they always seemed to go into quite serious altercations. i feel utterly ripped off having missed the content of so many things... this is what was great about robotech. although i'm sure foul language was ommited from the dubbing, the themes were fairly adult and unpatronising.

3. scrappy doo. worst australian accent ever!!!

RE:
Beavis And Butthead:
Okay, so the thing that made this show great was that it did such an incredible job of representing an exaggeratedly comical view of teenagers in the 90s. I think it's safe to say that the world could've done without a bunch of retarded 13 year olds trying to imitate them all the time, but aside from that the only argument I ever hear against the show was that it was stupid. Well, that may be so. But I've also noticed that the people who say this are usually just too egotistical and self-absorbed to let themselves go and laugh at something stupid from time to time.

Ren & Stimpy:
Acquired taste, I guess. I suppose if you can ignore the brilliant animation and excellent use of over-the-top sound effects, you could still have a problem with the actual content. That is if you're uptight and can't enjoy gross-out humour from time to time. You may want to avoid John K's work altogether in that case.

King Of The Hill:
I honestly don't see how this show bothers so many people. The writing is undeniably witty, and the characters are mostly instantly likeable (aside from Peggy, who gets bothersome and two-dimensional halfway through the first season). How is Bobby a stereotypical fat kid? Let's examine, shall we:
-Attracted the attention of the cute girl next door because of his personality.
-He's relatively popular at school, based on what we see of him there.
-He's extremely comfortable with his weight.
Those three things basically shatter the "stereotype" you seem to be talking about. If anything, they indicate that he's the precise opposite of that. Bobby is confident in himself, which is not something I can say of any of the kids I went to school with at that age who were even the slightest bit overweight. To me, this makes him seem like more of an inspirational figure than the perpetuation of a negative stereotype.

Captain Planet:
Okay, so this guy's creators get an A for effort in trying to get kids to take notice of the planet's problems with pollution. However, they get an F- for execution. I had a hard time taking this clown seriously when I was 8, and now that I look back and realize how incredibly P.C. the whole thing was, it's even more laughably bad. Kids should just stick to the Smoggies when it comes to pollution-prevention cartoons.

Alright I'm done.

I have to agree, that Mike Judge is, erm, judged too harshly. He's done some quality work, really.

Oh yeah, Peggy Hill is absolutely annoying.

Cartoons are getting suckier every day. Cool shows like Reboot and Rocko's Modern Life are replaced by crap like Hi Hi Puffi Ami Yumi and All Growed Up. Both shows look like they were designed by a fifty-year-old cerebal palsy patient with cataracts. Everyone in All Growed Up dresses like a clown and Puffi Ami Yumi is a load of cut-and-paste, poorly-drawn crap. These shows are crap, and not just your everyday, run-of-the-mill crap, I mean a fly-killing three-flush corn log the size of a train car.

Lisa Simpson I never had a problem with, it's Marge that I think is a waste of time. I used to enjoy Beavis and Butthead as a kid, though I don't find it that funny anymore. King of the Hill I find a waste of time, but that's a personal thing. I feel absolutly nothing for the characters, I can't relate to them in the slightest. I'm sure it's funny, but it's just so alien to me that I don't get it.

The Simpsons has felt pretty alien to me for ages now. I hardly recognize the characters as they are now when compared to what they were before back when the show was actually funny.
