I think all Star Wars Movies are great but the best for me is Episode III because it has a lot of emotion and the story is great.

It was a close call between IV and V. But I chose ESB.. it will always be the best. Even better than ROTS (which I thought was done very well.)

If ESB had've sucked then the Star Wars phenomenon probably would not still be going as strong today. For that reason alone ESB should be considered the best of all of the movies. (Plus the fact that it's clearly the best of the movies anyway).
Anyone who claims EP3 is better either -
A) - has never seen ESB.
B) - was born quite recently and enjoys movies largely for SPFX.
C) - has the last name McCallum.
D) - like to believe they ARE Anakin Skywalker when they watch EP3.
E) - will hopefully come to their senses one day when they grow up.

Every time i watch ESB it becomes a powerful and emotional experience for me. i love this movie. i claim that star wars is my favorite movie but if i have to pick one it is this one. The Empire Strikes Back is the greatest movie of all time.

Glad to see people on this board have great taste in movies.
A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi are all cinematic masterpieces. Three of the best American films.
Anybody who votes for TPM or AOTC has bad taste in movies.

I went with V myself, but there is definitely a case for IV. Its the classic adventure story.
And without the burden of having to tie-in the complex plot threads of the saga it works well as a stand-alone movie.
Edit: No, it works superbly as a stand-alone movie.
