So has anyone seen it now that it's out? I thought about seeing it, but I'm a little tied up at the moment with going back to school and work.
I am the Fisher King.

I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an obi-wan to go.

I saw the trailer and I got butterflies in my stoumach, that's something that only Sin City has achieved this year. So I'm very much looking forward to seeing it.

What do you mean Revan-47? That's like stating you can't compare the Friday the 13th series to Requim for a Dream!

I've seen it and I have to say... it's so-so. It's definatly not for the squeemish, as there are some rather disturbing scenes. In one part a little girl is attacked by a mud monster who flings mud in her face, and when she wipes off the mud, her eyes, nose and mouth are gone, with a flat blank face. Also, some parts are rahter jumpy and hard to understand (due to some characters having thick french accents).
But there are good parts, for instance you never could tell what was going to happen next, and there are a lot of elements from several classic fairytales such as Jack and the Beanstalk, Little Red Riding Hood, The Raven and Rapunzel. Also, a lot of things in it are extremely creative the way they're brought out.

There's also a scene where a cute little kitten is kicked into a set of spinning blades and reduced to cute little chunks of kitten meat, then an evil, evil Frenchman eats a bit that flys up on his cheek and likes it. mellow.gif

...I freaking love this movie. laugh.gif

I am a huge fan of Terry Gilliam's, and I have to say, sadly, that this film is a disappointment. It is closer to VAN HELSING than to BRAZIL or BARON MUNCHAUSEN. Too much of it is played for dumb comedy, and like a lot of films it fails by having indestructible heroes. Missing is the genuine sense of wonder and fantasy that inspires his earlier, more optimistic films. Ultimately BG is a Hollywood movie whose director happens to be Terry Gilliam. There were rumours during the production that Gilliam disagreed with his colleagues about many aspects of the production; it's hard to believe he had any disagreements with anyone over what is ultimately a pretty standard corporate project.
"I had a lot of different ideas. At one point, Luke, Leia and Ben were all going to be little people, and we did screen tests to see if we could do that." -George Lucas, in STAR WARS: the Annotated Screenplays (p197).
