Why do uncle Owen and aunt Beru bother telling Luke they're his aunt and uncle. They could have just told em he was their kid. I bet it would have saved them an awkward conversation or two later on in life.

Sure he might have been pissed when he found out later, but maybe after the initial shock, finding out that his dad was also the anti-christ might not have been so bad.

Vader: Obiwan never told you what happened to your father.

Luke: Oh great, what now.

Vader: I am your father.

Luke: Well thats just Fan-Fucking-Tastic! Next you’re gonna tell me I wanna bang my sister.

Vader: mellow.gif

Luke: Lets just get on with this ok, I’ve got shit to do.

Especially in a future where one would suppose people don't age quite as quickly.

Maybe Elan Sleazebaggano gave him the hook up on some 'death sticks'.

Obi-wan smokes Death Sticks. The come-down is atrocious. Obi-wan becomes a crazy old hermit.

It fits.

As an aside, (and I'm being rhetorical here), why did Lucas go with deathsticks? (yes, I know, it's his awful heavy-handed way of saying "smoking is bad"). He's already established "Spice" as some form of narcotic, why didn't he go with that? It would've made a simple and neat connection from the PT to the OT.

I just figured deathsticks were a form of spice. And the whole slezbagano scene could have been avoided altogether in my opinion.

They might be "spice" sticks. It would have made a lot of sense to have the guy say "You want to buy some glitterstim?". It would be cool if they were made from "spice"... but I guess that's just wishful thinking.

obiwan: You don't want to sell me a deathstick
Elan: eh... I Don't want to sell you a death stick.
obiwan: You want to GIVE me a carton.
Elan: eh... I want to GIVE you carton.

see.. that's how the scene should have gone.

Careful... Lucas may tell people that was his vision all along.
