I'm in San Francisco. I need to finish that some time. Power Armor MK II and a Magnum with a speed loader. 'Tis heaven to remove eyes and heads when people try to kill me.

San Francisco is a really great place to go on a killing spree...

a friend of mine and I both did it together as my girlfriend egged us on.
we started at the gun shop and secured the vulcan minigun... the surrounding architecture took care of the rest.

I finished the Arroyo stuff, then the game wouldn't let me go into the next town for some reason. Then I realized I hadn't patched it. So, I started again, except I forgot to save and ended up getting really pissed off because I had to do the stupid temple quest for another time. I just didn't bother...

I'll get around to playing it again, I swear.

Those health potion's effects on your perception aren't permanent, right? unsure.gif

Nah, they wear off after an hour or so. The temples stupid, in my opinion. Word of advice, you don't have to fight anything in there. You can just run straight through to the end. But you have to either beat the last guy, talk your way past him, or sneak out, otherwise the whole village goes hostile. Yeah, I know it's annoying, especially seeing as I build a ranged character, but you just have to grit your teeth and get it over with.

Use the powders on him at the start to knacker his perception.

Or throw a spear into the room beforehand, then when the fight starts you 'should' be able to pick it up and stick him with it. (Not sure this works)

Never thought of using the side effects of drugs against people. Next time I play, I'm going to go around and get everybody addicted to Jet.

I don't think addiction's a factor outside FOT, since it takes time to have an effect, and I don't think the game checks how often NPC's are shooting up.

I could be wrong though, let us know how it plays out.

EDIT:- Oh, and now that my wizardry savegames gone, I might turn my attention to FOT again. Since it has remote detonator traps that'd be perfect for the exploding barend logo.

Stealing is the most useful skill ever. I once snuck a pack of dynamite into this mutant's pocket and quickly rushes out of the map. I returned a second ago and he was still standing. Thinking it was a glitch and that the timer must have been turned off, I went to retrieve it, only to realise it was just delayed. You can guess what happened next.

I beat the first Fallout so I get a lot of jokes and referances. Like, in some part of the game you see the Razors sign as part of a wall. It used to be the sign above the Razor's clubhouse, a rather important place. Also, one of the ghouls survived from the first fallout game. He still had the tree growing out of his head.

you can also find a portal (fashioned from the guardian of forever from Star Trek) in the desert in fallout 2.

if you go through, you are sent back in time and crash into the vault of the first game... the impact of which breaks their water chip.

I've never managed to get that one, though I've heard of it before. Even with 8 or so luck, I've never picked it up.

Fallout is a work of genius. I tried playing through Fallout 2 again recently. Tried for a gambling/small arms type character. Had a luck of 10 and about 90% gambling skill and still no luck at the tables or special encounters, frustrating... Also, i've played it so much now that i'm not getting anything new from it. Still, it was awesome the first time through.

Maybe i'll move on to tactics now.

BTW: I think Dogmeat is the name of Mad Max's dog, it's a reference.
