I am so depressed right now.

I hate my major, but I really don't think there's anything else I could even semi-successfully pull off. English is supposed to be my thing, but for some reason this semester nothing clicks. I'll read something, read it again, then read it until the words stop making sense and I'm just staring at blots of ink, but nothing sticks in my head or makes any impression on me at all. How can I write all these papers I'm being assigned if I can't understand or even fully focus on the mind numbing material I have to read for them? I can't bullshit my way through this. I didn't want to be an English major so I could spend four year analyzing the most boring pieces or literature they could find, then agonize over and explain every single trivial detail in tedious, clinical essay form. What I need are creative writing classes. I need something that will actual stimulate me and help me harness and express my thoughts and ideas, not the ideas of others. So far, all my English classes have done is kill my imagination piece by piece. I can't think the way I used to, something's gone, my Guys seem...faded.

God, I hate this. I feel like a fucking failure.

Why don't you write music? smile.gif

I'm depressed about my puppy Stuckey. He's gotten out three times in the past couple of days, and yesterday he got his last round of shots so I have a wonderful, perfect beagle with a clean bill of health. He just has a tendency of getting Louis riled up and vice versa. I think Mr. Lou may be content to being a one-person dog. Maybe it was the absence of that which caused Louis to run from my friends when I was away.

Anyway, I'm considering for all reasons; finding a farm home for the pure beagle. I can handle Louis with no worries. The twosome is more of a handful. Just a consideration.

Despondent - I sympathise. Maybe you will find someone who desperately wants a Stuckey? This would be ideal solution.

No can do. While I am an audiophile, I'm no musician. My time in band was great, but it's just not my place.

Just because you aren't expanding your creativity at uni, doesn't mean you can't do it on your own time. Try your hand at creative writing before you go to sleep, or after you get home, or whatever. And hell, if you're proud of what comes of it, the screening room is there for a reason.

I am writing about Jm in my signature because apparently it's an effective method of ignoring him.

I mean... are you, like Gobbler, drawing girls instead of dating them??????

Jay-zuz, what happened to this world. It is full of intelligent, lovely, lonely people. However, it may cheer you up that a year ago Slade was lonley too, and look at him now smile.gif
