So what's the best movie genre? Just vote and post why it's your favorite genre.

And if you want you can post what's the worst genre...

EDIT: DAMN IT! WESTERN, SCI-FI AND OTHER ARE ON THE SAME LINE!

Can a moderator edit this, please?

Tsk tsk tsk...

You have disappointed me for the last time, admiral SithAvenger...

Horror, but only if it's done right. Real horror will scare you after you finish the movie, unlike all the slasher flicks (as cool as they may be).

I can't be fully happy with only one genre. A truly perfect movie, in my opinion, is a brilliant mix of all the best - comedy, drama, horror, action/adventure, and maybe a bit of romance if it's called for.

I'm not sure how to rank scifi and fantasy, though. Usually, I find the only way I can stay interested in anything scifi is if it's mixed with comedy, otherwise it's just kind of boring.

sci-fi + fantasy. Honestly though, there are tons of good movies across the board. It is pretty hard to have a favorite genre.
Apparently writing about JM here is his secret weakness. Muwahaha!!!! Now I have leverage over him and am another step closer towards my goal of world domination.

"And the Evil that was vanquished shall rise anew. Wrapped in the guise of man shall he walk amongst the innocent and Terror shall consume they that dwell upon the Earth. The skies will rain fire. The seas shall become as blood. The righteous shall fall before the wicked! And all creation shall tremble before the burning standards of Hell!" - Mephisto

Kurgan X showed me this web comic done with Legos. It pokes fun at all six Star Wars films and I found it to be extremely entertaining.

I dislike both western movies and horror movies, but other than that, it's really a mix. I love Action/Adventure movies is they're well done, and if they've got fantasy elements to them, so much the better. If they're not well done and involve a war that actually took place at some vaguely recent time on earth, in this dimension, they're just about the worst movies you can find, in my opinion.

I'll take anything with a larger than life quality to it, be it comedy (Blues Brothers, Ghostbusters, The Mask), horror (the Evil Dead 2, John Carpenter's The Thing), or the science fictional (Star Trek, classic Star Wars), adventure (Indiana Jones trilogy, Conan 1) and the in betweens (Robocop, Romancing the Stone).

I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an obi-wan to go.
