Thanks for everybody's insights, even if we didn't totally agree. I think the crux of the problem is that it really seems like Lucas wanted to ahve it both ways with this character and many other aspects of the film. Adding a cough does not an interesting character make.

Gary Oldman was supposed to voice Grievous but backed out because of Union concerns and Lucas' apathy toward them. The guy sure has a good guardian aggel looking out for his career.

I think the crux of the matter is "gut-sack"

good lord, 'chest-scrotum' would have been better!!!

It`s amazing how the PT movies get explained from outside information.
i'll make a movie with just one freeze scene (a picture) and then i`m gonna explain and develop the characters in comics, the web, etc...

Grievous was almost as bad a villain as The Master from Manos: The Hands of Fate. And Episode 3 was only slightly worse than that film, coincidentally.

but in the vacuum of space, wouldn't his eyes need some kind of protection, otherwise whatever vital fluids circulate for him to be able to live would be sucked out. Its another not fully thought out concept that adds to many others rushed to the screen. If he's made of metal, then I assume whatever damage Mace Windu inflicted upon him could be easily undone or replaced, he's a droid after all.
Excellent point. But of course, then there'd be no payoff to watching the Clone Wars (cartoon).

In addition, he's worse in dueling with four lightsabers than other fighters with just one. Why not give him a Darth Maul double bladed knock-off sabre

or a cross bar with four blades. He was just windmilling, for the most part. Oh. I forgot about his voice. Can I detract from what I just wrote?

And Barend, of course your post a few back had me biggrin.gif pretty good. And it's been a great day already.
