Hey! great giffs!
I think the idea is that palp Did it when the de saber's semi-circle is allmost complete.

I still don't get the balance betwen the diferent fighters:

Mace defeat Palp- Palp defeat Yoda- so Mace should defeat Yoda?
A possible answer: Obi defeat Anakin- Anakin defeat Dooku- Dooku defeat Obi: a circle of nonsense!

And then there are jedis who can be killed by anyone (the vast majority)
so the force was allready pretty balanced: three or four really powerfull jedis and two siths (or more, isn't count Dooku simultaneous to darth Maul?) but a lot of equally powerfull bad guys like Grievus, Jango (they kill jedis) etc.

I think that when you don't pre-establish a clear difference of powers betwen the contenders you kill the espectation about the heroe's faith, and the fights get boring.
In ESB, Luke was in clear desadvantage against Vader and the Emperor.
That's epic drama!

Mace's lightsaber touch the top border of the window at the end of the second semi-circle to establish a parameter.

Extreme Niptucking: I think that bicouse the lightsabers are CGI (maybe the glass too) there is an inconsistence here.
They painted the Mace one including the impact on the glass, but in the same photogram, Palp's saber was hitting the glass whitout affecting it.
I mean, to be logic, if both lightsabers broked the glass, then you need two impacts drawings.
Man, i think this polls will last forever... this films are all wrong!
