DO NOT BUY THIS GAME UNTILL READER REVIEWS ARE POSTED!

I can't stress this enough. IGN, GAMESPOT, EGM, are all a bunch of hacks. Lucas Arts probably bought twice the advertising space from these companies to help bolster the reivew.

Well, all the readers were raving about it as well shortly after it came out. It wasn't until later on that people started to realise there were huge problems with it, and the backlash started. I was deeply suspicious of KotOR 2 from the start, but given what I've heard about it since then, I'm very glad I didn't get caught up in the hype.

Given that I haven't played the second game and probably never will, I almost certainly won't be getting the third either. However, I have heard that they plan to address some of the plot points that the second game left unresolved. rolleyes.gif

What for? Was she purely ornamental? I can understand them wanting the droids, you can sell those for a lot of money, but a chick who's only skills are finding non-existand mushrooms and getting randomly pregnant, you're not going to get much.

Unless they release a NEW KOTOR 2, then all is lost. You have no idea how bad the last quarter of the game ended up being.

Words can not explain the anger I felt. Anger leads to fear (of buying KOTOR 3) Fear leads to pain (of knowing what a great franchise it once was) Pain leads to suffering (I really want to play a good KOTOR, sadly, it probably will never happen)

Go on then, tell me. I've heard pretty much all the spoilers already, so it won't do any harm even in the unlikely event that I ever end up playing the game.

they could always make patches for KOTOR 2

The game was flawed, true, but I still hold that KotOR 2 is better then most games that I see on the market. Now I'm not excusing the bad parts, but I think the good parts are often overlooked because of it.

It's like "Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader". The setting and backstory is brilliant, and the first half of the game is utter gold. Sadly, the second half is a crap Diablo clone. As such, the game got crappy reviews and was generally overlooked. Sure, the end was dissapointing, but a lot of people missed out on the good things because of it.

Don't let the problems of the game completely overshadow its good points. It's still a solid game, played it a good engine. The use of skills was a lot better done then the first, there were less crashes(at least for me, anyway), the set up was good, and the engine that the game uses is brilliant. Sure, the influence thing could have been done better, and the end was disapointing, but I for one live in the hope that they will fix it for KotOR 3.

KOTOR 2 was still a very good game. But I didn`t get in love with it, like with KOTOR 1.

Am I the only one here who liked KOTOR II more than the original?

. . . . .

Yeah, thought so.

I loved KotOR 2. Check the Games Room for my thoughts as I was playing it. The only real problem I have with it is that it could have been much more then it was.

It's a shame everyone is spewing all this venom at Obsidian. Your anger really should be directed at Lucasarts, greedy fuckers pushed basically forced Obsidian to put out a 75% finished product just so they could get some extra Christmas sales. When I read about all the awesome content that was left on the cutting room floor, I was utterly pissed. KOTOR 2 had the potential to be 2x better than KOTOR 1. Damn shame.

I will be beating it this afternoon, and I gotta say, I am now enjoying the HELL out of it. It was a little slow to start off, but once I got a lightsaber, it got better.

The original will always hold a special spot in my heart, but there are definately some good things to come out of Obsidian's work.
