On top of everything else, the post is supposed to be kinda funny. It points out that through Lucas's horrible writing the once-great Jedi have been downgraded to (for the most part) a bunch of whiny losers who can't tell Palpatine is evil when evil oozes from his very being. Read some of the "reasons to hate" written by this site's creator and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Isn't it weird that I thought you would come back with a response like this? Isn't it weird that most sane people believe that the only reason the Jedi have been down graded to a bunch of whiny loosers who can't tell tha Palpatine is evil, is simply an unbelievable plot line on Lucas' behalf? Isn't it weird that I have read reasons to hate written by this sites creator and know what you are talking about, the difference here though, is that I am not prepared to be manipulated into believing that the Jedi are a bunch of nazi facists.

Also, the "us" the original author spoke of was just fictional "people in general"--which was pretty self-evident. But if you want to play stupid games, it was Lucas who put Steven Spielberg's ET in Attack of the Clones...so, you could say that Earth exists within the Star Wars universe. Hence, the Jedi can not protect "us."

If you are going to summarise another author's work, then make it clear that the us referred to in your summary, are fictional people in general or you will be misunderstood. Isn't it weird though that Lucas putting ET in Phantom Menace not Attack of the Clones, was what drew most of the fire from Star Wars fans, because Lucas was betraying fantasy boundaries? Isn't it weird then that nearly all Star Wars fans would agreed that it is absolutely ridiculous that earth exists in the Star Wars universe and would consider that you need locking up in a mental asylum if you expect fictional characters to protect you?

It's not my fault that the Sith have become ten times cooler than the Jedi...blame Lucas. After seeing these new flicks I'd turn to the dark side in a heartbeat.

It is your fault if you now believe the Sith to be 10 times cooler than the Jedi because you have fallen for Lucas' dark side trap. Personally, I can't get worked up over a bunch of people who think it okay to kill kids, force choke their pregnant wives, enslave a galazy, destroy planets, murder billions of innocent non force users ...

Julie123, are you annoying on purpose or are you just stupid? STOP saying "isn't it weird", it's irritating.
[Qoute] it's not me using a double standard, it's you using a half-standard.
(that should be in someone's signature) [/Qoute]

Actually, I think Padme is kinda evil--I mean, she belonged to the Senate, which is kind of a Star Wars-type United Nations, made up dictators and despots and all the rest. I mean, Padme doesn't even need to show up for work--she can have losers like JarJar stand in for her--while kids like Anakin are forced to live as slave labor. Shouldn't she be showing up for work and finding a way to change the oppressive governments of such planets? She seems to only take a stand for human rights when it directly effects her. Maybe she deserves a force-choke or two to shake her to her senses...

Besides, just because the Sith are cooler, it doesn't mean I agree with everything they do. The bad guys are almost always cooler.

Yeah, it is weird.

But seriously, the Jedi, for the most part, were honourable. Some not as good as others, I'll admit. The Jedi did have a large amount of control over the Galaxy, but, as can be seen, the Senate does overrule them. And question 7 is just wrong, it just requires the 7, 8, and 9 storylines, which technically exist.

Hell yeah,

I hate to admit it, but this new twist actually revives my interest in the whole saga.
The disturbing similarities between "Triumph of the Will" and "Star Wars" were always evident, but me thinks that has more to do with George having no qualms about stealing from everybody, what is more disturbing are the less than subtle racial stereotypes throughout each movie
This new reading of the text however is much more interesting.

Darth is more hero than anti-hero
Yoda is a cumudeonly old prick whose first instinct is cowardice and who badly hides his dylexia - perhaps an older more cunning George W
Obiwan lies and lies again, leaves a 'friend' to roast, hides in a cave after cleverly disquising himself as Ben Kenobi, refuses to intervene in a growing incestous relationship, seems to have a past 'thing' with Chewbacca that is never revealed ...

I bow at the feet of whoever the original post was written by, you have warmed the heart of this cynical bastard
