Sorry if this has been brought up before, but how and when and from whom specifically did Luke learn the force choke power (he uses on the Gamorrean guards)?
And isn't this a Sith-specific force use? ermm.gif

This is not a good answer, but if you read Shadows of the Empire he goes back to ObiWans home and learns from a bunch of jedi manuals different things, such as building a lightsaber.

I am not sure if it is Sith specific unless you are trying to kill the person or if you do it out of rage maybe.

What was the manual, "Force powers for dummies?" huh.gif
Thanks for the tip, I'll read the book. (I remember in the novelization of ROTJ, they described him building his lightsabre in Ben's old hut, with Ben's tools)

I also noticed that. Is that a clue that in Episode VII, Luke will turn to the dark side... Nah.

But actually it's cool to see pigs getting choked. smile.gif

No Force powers are Sith-exclusive, really... things like Force lightening and Force choking could be used by Jedi, but they tend not to because it's a power associated with the dark side. In the Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter PS2 game, Adi Gallia (a Jedi) uses Force lightening, so it seems that Jedi are capable of using these powers.

And in KOTOR I had Force Lighting, Force choke and Death Field, but I saved the galaxy though. smile.gif

Exactly. There was a thread where I specifically detailed that, but I won't be able to find it in the huge deulge of new topics...

Why would you need to "learn" how to choke someone? It's just telekinesis on someone's windpipe. Only a plothole if you concern the games canon.

Lightside powers: I never used 'em.

But as far as ROTJ goes, I always just assumed the Force was the Force, there was no seperation of abilities based on your "lightness" or "darkness". So I never had a problem with Luke choking the piggies either. Actually I enjoyed it - if anything, it showed Luke was "on the edge" from the start.
