Well Jon, I feel that it is very important that you do indeed call up your friend in Kindergarten and apologies. I mean you were in the wrong after all and there is nothing worse than perpetuating bad blood especially when you know that you are in the wrong.

Another way to look at it is that you could be doing your friend a big favour. If they are and idiot, as you say, then this realisation that they have in fact been right about something may give them the confidence back to take on more of the world's challenges. You could be setting something amazing in motion, just by helping your friend realise that they are not as stupid as they once thought. There was a time once when Einstien was not considered to be terribly bright you know.
