Just how many times are you willing to send your food back to the kitchen in hopes that the chef will get it right? I've already walked out of the restaurant, theres no reason anyone else should linger.

Luke's words, "I have no memory of my mother. I never knew her," have no feeling put into them? The scene does fall apart when Han enters but until then it's strong and memorable.

That Leia might remember her real mother, and that the person she remembers is not her real mother at all, that the version of events that Lucas had offered in ROTJ makes perfect sense in the light of ROTS, is all possible, from a certain point of view.
"I had a lot of different ideas. At one point, Luke, Leia and Ben were all going to be little people, and we did screen tests to see if we could do that." -George Lucas, in STAR WARS: the Annotated Screenplays (p197).

If you want to twist words and make up crazy meanings you can interpret things in a lot of odd ways, but the simplest interpreetation is probably the best.

"But it dosn't make sense. The dialogue and action just don't add up!"

"Ermmm. Incongruency, Obi Wan had found. How embarassing. How embarassing. An answer, who has?"

"Master Yoda, someone must have made a mistake."

"Ermmm indeed. Beautiful the mind of a child is."

"Only George Lucas could have ignored that dialogue..."

"Ermmm meditate on this I will."

ROTJ is lame as a whole, Helena. There isn't much that is classic about the Luke and Leia scene on the wooden bridge. Don't you see that? There was no feeling put into it, and there should be no feeling that it gives us... lameness is the reason for my apathy of ROTJ.

It's not a great scene, but it's one of the better scenes in a film that sorely needs them. If it weren't for the bit with Han afterwards it would be one of my favourites.

Also, I can see the point of wanting to kidnap a human and use her as a slave, but they didn't. They tied her to a flimsy easel for a month. It's assumed they had to feed and give her water. What for? Was she purely ornamental? I can understand them wanting the droids, you can sell those for a lot of money, but a chick who's only skills are finding non-existand mushrooms and getting randomly pregnant, you're not going to get much.

Yeah, the Han afterwards is actually one of my least favourite...

What I find offensive from the director's part is that despite completing the prequest he did not condescent to explain things to his fans. I was so looking forward to some plausible explanation of Luke/Leia separation, half hoping it would be worth something...

Helena, why don't you just pop across the border to Poland to watch ROTS? We don't have dubbing, and Polish subtitles would not bother you at all, you forget that they are here if you listen...We can have the basher's party afterwards wink.gif

Munich would be like 700 km from where I live, unfortunately it is farthest corner, the North -East of Poland. But seriously, if you ever plan a holiday in Poland (and there are nice things to be seen there) let me know, and I'll arrange for us to meet somehow.

Isn't it a shame with german dubbing, though... I understand why you don't want to see it in there

In an attempt to redirect the content of this thread to it's title, I'd like to say that I didn't care much for the way Padme died. It is one thing if she had slipped into a coma or something and then died because of her "lost will to live". We've all heard of situations when doctors say stuff like: "all her vitals are stable, but she isn't responding to the medication. it's almost as if she doesn't want to go on".

But the execution was in my opinion poorly done, she was in pain, trying to tell Obi-Wan something, and then she just died.

it was a poor death.

she was way too greived for what happened. people go through much worse... and so should have she to justify that. it was a lame way to die. and it i could let go (a bit) if it served a real purpose, but it didn't.
her premature death ruins continuity.

just like forcing boba fett into episode 2 made no sense because they did not continue with him at all.

how does boba fett having a father who once met obi wan, and created the clone soldiers in any way add to his characters motivation.

before: Boba fett, captured han for money.
now: Boba fett, captured han for money. by the way... some black guy killed his dad.

alright... then... okay.

Guys, I have to apologise. I thought Padme dying of grief would be poignant, but I was wrong. The scene was poorly done, and she only died because, well... she had to die.
Don't get me started on the ridiculous medical droid and maternity droid.

i was expecting that droid to walk past to another patient and say: "and you, my friend, are suffering from a badly bruised ego"

He was going for the fairy tale ending, no doubt.
