Where are you finding all this stuff... Its great.

Had a bit of a laugh at Starry Nights and that Miss Piggy thing.

The nine episodes thing is always interesting - but George got lazy after he fired everyone, so he waited till 1999 before getting his ass back in hear.

Thanks guys.

Oh, just a stack of magazines collected over the height of my fandom, located recently.
Found a HS notebook, too. smile.gif

Perhaps I could use it as a type of antique poster, like the original Star Wars poster. Anyway, that was great!

Thanks Movie Goer. Would be pleased to contribute.

For all that the Vader is Episode III, it looks cool.

And how much did the cookies in R2-D2 fetch? you haven't told us that.

alright guys, i'm at a loss of words here to defend my favorite movie from a the critic. He has a point.

If i say "wait until ROTJ for that question to be answered" then I am guilty of gusherism, right?

I'd like to say his poinnt about the Space Slug doesn't hold up because its involved under willing suspension of disbelief. You can trick a human observer into believing the laws of physics and nature would allow a space slug to have gravity and atmosphere in its belly.

You cannot trick and audience into believing jar jar's dive into the water or padme's fall were physically possible, however.

I'd say Gerrold answers his own question about Luke being untrainable and a failure. He was unprepared and he did lose to Vader.

I just think that he learned from the battle and from meditation between movies. Its too bad ROTJ was a little weak, but the audience does get the feeling that he matured and sorted things out, and that's how he beats Vader. Or, Gerrold could be 100% correct because technically Luke lost yet again in ROTJ. He fell to the dark side temporarily in order to beat Vader, letting the emperor win. When he turns good again, he almost dies but is rescued yet again. He only *wins* by converting Vader and that took faith and patience. Maybe he did learn patience and *to do, no to try* somewhere between films.

Hey, at least Gerrold enjoyed watching ESB. Its more than i can say about AOTC and TPM.

You have got a pretty good stash there, Lord Spondent.
I remember seeing that same debate, with much of the same points, in my Final Countdown thread...
Some things never change.

Keep it coming, if you still have it. It's all good.

Nice to know that it is now two people versus the rest of the universe in the Empire Strikes Back debate, and that the other guy is smarter than me!

Not the rest of the universe - my aunt has never seen a Star Wars movie of any kind.

As for your anti-ESB campaign - its not a war.
Hell, I agreed with your points, I just didn't weigh them as heavily as you did.

Well thanks, mate.

I really think you'll like this next one. This was the SL fan letters section, once folks got to see ESB and respond with questions and theories- Just like us.

I've alluded to one letter in particular before, and was pleased to locate the mag. I was in agreement with Robert that summer, and figure so was GL when he read it. wink.gif

Do you think this stuff would be worth anything for hardcore fans? cause there are fans that pay a lot for a little if its anything to do with star wars. Cool articles.
