Besides, an actual story would be about a million times better than another movie that takes the first hour giving backstory and showing them sloooooowlyyy realizing thier powers...

Yeah, it's a photoshop, I found it at www.superherohype.com in the Superman Returns Spoiler Board, where they've got a caption thread running. I thought it looked neat so I decided to plunk it down here.
As far as I know Captain Marvel will not be appearing in Superman Returns but the grapevine and Internet Movie Database has it that Stephen Sommers, who gave us the Brendan Fraser Mummy films and Van Helsing is slated to do a Captain Marvel movie, tentively titled "Shazam!" as well as an update of Flash Gordon (it was rumored for a while there that he was considering using Ashton Kutcher as Flash Gordon!).
Frankly, I think Bryan Singer was an idiot to cast 25 year old Brandon Routh just because he's "unknown" considering the film's plot is that Superman returns after a 5 or 6 year absence. If Superman's been missing then he should be played by a guy over 30. And from the pictures of hte movie I've seen, they haven't even bothered trying to at least make Routh look a little older. I know Chris Reeve was 26 or something at the time but he wasn't playing a Superman who was returning from a long term absence. Dumbasses.
The only thing worst than that is that they actually cast 21 year old Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane. I never liked Margot Kidder's Lois Lane (she always came off as too dumb to be a reporter) but at least Kidder looked like a woman and not a high schooler.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!
Although, to keep pace with more current Aquaman, the pants and the boots need to be ALL green and he needs a yellow belt, plus he no longer goes with gloves but instead his left hand is made out of water.

Click on the above link and you'll get an upclose and personal shot of the new "S" insignia being used in the new film, and you will see that it is in fact comprised of a thousand little tiny S's.

Tim Burton was slated to direct Superman script Kevin "Dogma" Smith wrote, but Burton hated the script, as did producer Jon Peters. Burton, who brags about how he never reads comic books, wanted to make things fast and loose and Jon Peters wanted something that would just give them room to make a lot of toys, and they didn't like the faithfulness of Smith's script. Needless to say having a guy who refuses to read comics in the boat with a guy who does like comics just isn't a good match. Burton and Peters wanted to get rid of the classic Superman suit and they didn't want him to fly - they wanted him to wear the all black suit with the silver 'S' emblem and at one point actually had Superman travelling around in a "Super Mobile" and teleporting himself as opposed to flying. I also hear that Burton wanted to get rid of Nicholas Cage, another comic book lover, and replace him with Ralph Fiennes (Feinnes? never can get that name spelled right) and/or Sean Penn. And I heard they wanted Smith to add a gay robot companion for Brainiac and to have Superman's Fortress of Solitude guarded by polar bears.
I don't like a lot of what I've heard about Bryan Singer's approach to this movie, but after hearing what Burton and Peters wanted to do, Singer's stuff doesn't sound quite as bad. Still terrible, but not as bad.
