QUOTE (Slade @ Mar 14 2005, 01:11 PM)
Does it piss anyone that Turkey, a country with 3% of its land in Europe, wants to join the European Union?

I'd say it is not as simple as that. I'd rather have them join European Union than join Jihad or something. The only civilised moslem country in the world, almost the only positive example than you can be both devout muslem and civilised.
(My husband's just been there for a couple of weeks).

Anyway Dr Lecter, is it illegal to eat horses in UK???? Is eating a horse in UK the sam as eating your dog? Sounds strange to me. I've eaten horse sausages on several occasion, does it make me a sicko?

You won't believe it, but the local news last night had a story on Savetoby.com. They said that all kinds of animal activists were bitching about it.

I also found another site in the same vein, savemybaby.com, or something like that. Same idea, but this lady's going to have an abortion if she doesn't get $100,000.

As long as she's not eating the bleeding baby.

I personally see nothing wrong with eating animals and humans, they are meat and meat is food. Thus eating is cool.

i like animals...

i like people NOT testing on animals...

i hate that bitch from PETA!!!

there was a thing on 60minutes (Australia) while she was here. She was trying to sink the wool industry...(the price of wool has not risen in years and wool farmers are struggling as it is...) because they remove skin from the buttocks of sheep to apply a compound that kills of worms that are eating them alive from the inside out...

now, i'd like to think there's a better way, and hopefully we'll find one...
but this cow was kicking up such a stink... and at first i was almost on her side, but then she started carrying on about her other beleifs...

in her never ending quest to protest against all non vegan/vegitarians, she has put in her will that she wants part of her flesh to be used in a public protest against meat eating in the form of a Barbeque, so that (as she said) people will pass by and go 'oh, that smells yummy' only to be horrified that it is the cooking flesh of this woman...

i don't know about you... but just to fuck with the protesters, i'm going to try and be there... and i'm going to eat a piece!!!

and yell: "I EAT ANIMALS, AND ANYONE WHO TRIES TO PROTECT THEM FROM ME."

Huzzah to the ever dis-like of PETA, worse than the republicans in the push-my-beliefs-on-you department.

I was here durring the Winter Olympics in Utah, and the utter bastards decided to follow the parades happening and started cursing, protesting, and just trying to ruin the fun. They knocked over the taco stand for christ's sake, PETA MUST DIE!!!

Honestly... who the hell do they think they are?!?

if it were my tacco stand...

Peter from PETA: *knocks over 'El Grande Barendos Taco' stand* "Meat is murder!!!"
Barend from EGBT: "No, This is!!!" *squirts tabasco into his eyes, knees him in the groin, ties his body into a giant pretzle, then drinks some tequila*

That reminds me of a little video that PETA "discovered."

Apparently, PETA members were beating the shit out of animals and ripping the fur of the living bodies of animals to put a big black mark on the fur industry. Too bad they didn't count on people that actually know how to get fur of animals. Doing pretty much everthing the PETA members did to rip the fur of the poor bastards (like beating them with sticks) goes against the Handy Book of How to Get Fur. Hypocrytical bastards make me sick.

So let me get this straight - in a protest against cruelty to animals, they did the exact same acts of cruelty to the very same animals?

...kill them. KILL THEM ALL. yell.gif

Heh, my mother is in a number of knitting newsgroups, and they recieved an ad from PETA about how many sheep were killed to support the wool industry. Apparently they thought sheep were killed in the shearing process.

I've never met any PETA people face to face, but knocking over the taco stand sounds like an excellent way to start a riot. One of my goals in life is to be involved in a riot before I die.
