Yeah, I cut myself every friggin' time I shave. And it's mostly on the flat portions, not the acne or anything.

Women are disadvantaged users of the language...

Proof - Barend and Slade can crack jokes like that no end, and nobody thinks it strange, unappropriate etc. Whereas it took only one "prick teaser" exp​ression I uttered to get patronising remarks from some male forum members.

It is ok for men to use swearwords, but it is considered "unladylike" for a woman to swear (or tell dirty jokes).

It is all the fault of the social programing to make women more submissive through the language. I think from now on I am going to fight this blatant example of discrimination.

It's all about how the woman presents herself beforehand, I know a number of very sweet girls who can talk enough filth gutter level any conversation (and then some.) On the otherside of the coin I know girls who get offended at the slightest hint of inuendo from myself.

I don't think it counts as unladylike to swear\flirt\curse, it's applys to gentlemenly behavior as well. Both boys and girls have they're eye rollers at this kind of thing, it's not a great problem, unless you've been maintaining a certain aloof image and suddenly switch sides.

I did not crack a joke. I just realized afterward that it could betaken that way, so I corrected myself. However, I knew barend would crack that joke (when he posted after me), and I couldn't help but play off of it.

And I know women who are fifty times more vulgar than I am (my sister, for instance). Society does seem to be against women being allowed the same vulgarity double standard that men are, and I think it's unfair too. I don't think I patronized you, MC, and if I did, I will insert glass into my own anal cavity in shame.

I like it when women aren't afraid to break the mold and say what they want. There's too much bullshit hypocracy and double standardization around. Fight the power, sister! Fuck them all!

I'm rather soft spoken unless I'm angry at something, because I don't like to desensitize profanities until they are meaningless. Unless I'm being sarcastic or using some sort of exp​ression I tend to refrain from cursing.

Edit: I would start a debate topic on this subject but I need to sleep betwixt finals.

I don't see what's wrong with desensitizing profanity. Why the fuck should certain words have special qualities the rest of words don't have? Say what you want. There is no power in "fuck" that you didn't put there.

Guys do have it worse in terms of shaving if they actually want to remain clean-shaven-- seems like it's such a chore-- but on the other hand, they can grow cool facial hair if they want. Sometimes I think I'd like to be a guy just for the sideburns alone.

I've never met a girl who went on and on about shaving her legs like it was such a big deal; either you care about having smooth, hair-free legs, so you do it, or you don't so you don't. If I didn't want to shave my legs but I had a significant other who insisted that I should, they'd hear from me about that, but that's not specifically related to the shaving issue itself as much as to the relationship dynamics.
