2 great movies, congratulations on your fine taste Barend. Dog soldiers is a no brainer, but it's amusing and quotable in places.

I want to go back to the films of the 80's, where plots were simple, and explosions happened regularly....

Just walked up to the CD store. Got Silence of the Lambs and Pulp Fiction for 3 dollars each.

My DVD purchase before last (the last was Keanu Reeves in „the Watcher”) was Death Train based on story by Alastair Mclean. It was quite promising, because it was James Bond meets Jean Luc Picard meets Saruman. and it was NOT a Hollywood production. I learnt quite a few things while watching:
1. If you want your friends to think that you have acquired an American accent, just say „peachy” a lot
2. If you are a young woman and go on a military mission with professional soldiers and you want to be respected, wear a mini-skirt for the airplane jouney. Surely the guys will treat you seriously after that
3. German railway guards while on duty speak to each other in English
4. When a Russian general speaks to Russian officers on duty (in Russian with English accent) the Russian officers answer him in Serbo-Chroatian
5. When you want to stop a train, and you do it my removing lenghts of rails, you must cut out the pieces of rails of exactly the same lenght as a normal span – this way, the train that you want to stop can just pick some rails from a nearby junkyard and repair the rails quickly.
6. If you want to stop a train by means of a barricade, do it by using a normal van and place some soldiers inside the van, so they can be just run over by the train.

Now, and here is creme de la creme:

If you want to build up a morale in the Russian army, you sell a nuclear bomb to Iraq, so the Russian army can be united in the face on an enemy. If you only knew, poor Alastair, how true it turned out to be...

I'm probably going to buy 28 Days Later... soon. Hell, it's easier than just renting it every five months or so.
I am the Fisher King.

I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an obi-wan to go.

I really liked 28 days later. I was marvelling at the scenes of emply London, I thought they digitally removed people or something, but then I read that they actually filmed it at 4 am, and asked any passers by not to go near. It was really awesome.

My new purchase is Supersize me, watched it last night. Gross...

Oh yes, it does. The sheer smell from the local Mac makes me want to beat that freak who ate 19.000 BM in his life..
What really got me, however, was than not one from these people in the street knew what a calorie was. I never believed in stereotypes, it just can't be that people are so ignorant...

Red Dwarf series V and VI and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy have been ordered, and I eagerly await the moment I can start watching them on June 5th.
