Abandon all hope ye who enter here

Maybe I'm over reacting to this but it really makes me sick. I'm almost ashamed to be white. In so many movies we've seen white people who try to use hip hop slang and look silly but they at least hang out with African Americans and make attempts to befriend them. This is completely different.

George Bush claiming that he is anyone's "Homeboy" is simply wrong. Black people voted by overwhelming margins against Bush. They've suffered under his regime as many other minority groups have so Bush's assertion that he is their "homeboy" is a callous and sickening slap in the face.

Moreover, Bush is a redneck neo conservative maniac from Texas. I echo Zack De La Rocha's lyrics "He aint seen a brown skinned man since his grandparents bought one" What in the ever loving hell is afro-american slang doing showing up in support of him? The answer? It was likely put their by an older white marketing executive who thought it would seem "hip" and "with it"

This simplistic and abhorrent idea that the use of a single term will make a candidate more appealing to black people is slanderous to African Americans everywhere and it makes me sick. I don't know, maybe I'm taking it wrong and I know the idea of politcal correctness comes into play but this is the equivalent of Hitler putting out a shirt that says "Adolph is a mensch" (jewish term of endearment translated to "man or brother")

I have black people in my friends and family and, just like white people, they're not going to be swayed by a candidate claiming to be their "homeboy" if Bush really gave a damn about African Americans he might consider doing something about inner cities where many of them live, putting an end to gentrification, initiating real welfare reform, ending racial profiling, etc etc.

I'm sorry, I got off on a rant, but this just really strikes me as wrong and sick for so many reasons.

That said, if you're interested in being assailed by a group of angry young black men (as well as sensible people of all races) then this is the shirt for you.

It is rather absurd. I'd much prefer to wear a shirt that says "Don't blame me, I voted for the Democrats" with a WWIII backdrop. Or better yet "Vote for Pedro"...

I dunno. I find it hard to believe that anyone would wear that shirt seriously. If I saw someone wearing it I would only assume they were being sarcastic.

I kinda want one, though I wouldn't wear it out in public.

Isn't this a take off on the snarky "Jesus is my Home Boy" t-shirts that are sold at various hipster-attracting stores that sell ironic tshirts like this one?

I have seen a bunch of the Jesus ones on white hipster guys wearing cloth pants and chains, and I don't think it's because they have a sincere love of the Lord. I think it's because they think IF someone made a t-shirt to try and bring Jesus to the youth of today and IF they made that particular shirt, it would be hilarious.

I think the GWB one is a meta-take on it, not at all a sincere gesture ...

From what I saw on the site it seemed as though it were serious since they're selling two other W supporting shirts. And Nate, as weird as it is I have to agree I almost want one of those evil things too, I can't explain why though I just do.

That's the compulsion of Satan.

And Dr. Lecter, nobody cares if you're politically correct around here or not. Jesus was Jewish, middle-eastern, spoke Arameic. He also chilled with lepers.

I've seen people around my school wearing those, mostly girls though. I don't like them. They're like those stupid shirts with sayings on them.

Hole in the Roof. Is that like the Door in the Floor? I suppose the Cat in the Hat knows.

Strikes me that anyone wearing it would be seeing it as a joke, but then anyone wearing it seriously would be a joke, it works on so many levels it's positively avant-guarde!

Hooray for drunkeness. I am not there, alas... But maybe soon, I don't know how hopeful tonight is looking in that department...

And I'd wear a shirt that said "Hole in the Wall."

Well, I'd like to think it was ironic (and if it was, it wasn't done very well). However, if it was done in all seriousness, I fear for us all. And yet, T-shirt printers balked at Cradle of Filth's Gilded Cunt T-shirts...
