Does anyone watch this show? It had good buzz when it came out, but I never watched it until this year. I'm really enjoying the puzzle, and with abc family showing reruns every night at 6pm (CST) I'm catching up, bit by bit.
Yes, it's a soap opera. But there's earnest treatment of the subject, with definite boundaries. I like it.

Yeah I watched it up untill the flying episode, then lost intrest because of the lack of super villians, NO I need more than just Lex, but Leo is a badass I'll admit. Is it still good?

Meh, that's when I started watching it. It does seem a little over the top on Weds. night.
of course until recently I had no idea of any backstory of any kind.
But have since seen a couple dozen old episodes, as they're aired frequently now. I like those.
Incidentally, both the new season and the weeknight airings were advertised in Mad magazine, to which I may now consider continuing the subscription

It was treated like crap here, and taken off the about 4 eps into the second season. I was sad.

I'm annoyed by Smallville. Sure I've never seen an episode but I'm tired of that hunky Clark Kent guy in the commercials when he raises his eyebrows up and looks all angsty. Then he gets hit by a car and the car gets totaled.
That set up has so much promise: Angst-ridden teen looks angst-ridden, angst-ridden teen gets hit by car. Unfortunately it ends with angst-ridden teen is Superman so is unaffected by impact.

I TOTALLY saw the Lex Luthor guy (Michael Rosenbaum) at LaGuardia when I was flying to Chciago. Sure, it was weird that he was flying ATA to either Indiana or Chicago, but I'm still convinced I saw him coming out of the bathroom.
I haven't seen the show in two years, but I remember it fondly for its many tasty lead actors. Hunky indeed!

Yeah, but he's not near, not in the same realm of angst ridden anikan.
something about the red kryptonite (in the class rings!) makes Clark a "bad boy" so that helps quash the icon.
's a fun show. Check it out and see if you really hate it!
pretty people? it's television.

That's not weird. Everyone knows that he graduated from Castle High school in Newburgh, Indiana.

i saw a couple episodes when it forst aired here... but then i became busy on those nights and was unable to continue...
i thought it was interesting... but i thought tying in lex luthor at this point in supermans life was odd... a bit too batman for my liking...
they could have gotten away with it... if the two charavcters never met...
but even then, it's just a bit too much.
i really like the girl that works on the school paper with clark...
she's what i miss most about the show...

Well Lex knew Clark as teens from the comic books. If anything, there is a stark resemblance to spider-man with Lionel/Lex as the wealthy and powerful father/decent son wrestling with demons parallel. I don't pretend to know how far those storylines go.
Chloe is a great role. (That was the character I'd have gone for.)
Once again, it's kind of like Dawson's Creek meets Super-Friends. Accept that going in.
Not everything can be The Empire Strikes Back.
ps, from what I've seen of the pilot (very little,) Clark's entry as a little boy was somehow responsible for Lex's baldness. In the comics I remember it being a chemistry lab mishap.
