"Anikan returned as Hayden in ROTJ (DVD SSE) because Hayden was the last man standing version of Anikan. If Sebastian Shaw was shown, it would only be a partial torso. What's more, Hayden is grimacing because the Younger Anikan is coming to grips with accepting his redemption." sleep.gif

In a perverse kind of way, I'm hoping this is an official statement.

Really? That's an explanation? Seriously? Sheesh. I think somebody is missing some midichlorians!

News flash: spiteful Alec Guiness was trying to sabotage Lucas’ master plan.

In "The Empire Strikes Back,” Alec Guiness as Obi-Wan in ghost form, told Luke to seek “Yoda, the Jedi master who instructed me.”

But in actuality, it can now be reported that the line was a misnomer. In fact if you look at the script, the line clearly reads: “A jedi master who instructed me.” “A” jedi master. Not “THE.”

Look it up. You people need to be upset at Sir Alec, not Master Lucas. sleep.gif

The point risen by Desponded is worthy of a whole lecture at my grammar and linquistics English classes. The nuances of definite and indefinite article! Still, not being a native speaker, the whole beauty of it is a little lost for me.

Can you explain, just for my linguistic competence, what are the implication of changint "the" to "a".

"Yoda, the Jedi master" means there was only one Jedi master, or what?

Perhaps this is not quite on topic with SW, but really, I'd rather discuss articles than the implication of losing one's limbs to one's count of Midichlorians. pinch.gif

Fair enough. the whole point of this thread is to liken one to a Lucas apologist. come up with whatvever crazy explanation you can, put is in the Lucas quotes of implausability, and see how the emperor has no clothes. There is no basis for credence whatsoever. Just as better writing isn't sanctioned SW unless GL says it is.

by changing "the" jedi master to "A" jedi master (one of many. for instance, "one jedi master opened the door for us, and I learned from him. Another jedi master taught a kindergarten class, and I learned from him as well. My assigned master was Qui-gon Jin, but that's not important. He's dead. the living jedi master, I knew him too. Find him, I'll meet you there.")

It all depends on what the word "the" means.

Huh? According to this copy of the script (the final draft, according to simplyscripts.net), the word used by Obi-Wan is indeed 'the', not 'a'.

The sandpeople had women and children. We know this because Anakin killed them how could he tell? The children might be smaller but I never saw a sandperson with breasts. Did they hike their skirts and show him some leg or something?

Also, I can see the point of wanting to kidnap a human and use her as a slave, but they didn't. They tied her to a flimsy easel for a month. It's assumed they had to feed and give her water. What for? Was she purely ornamental? I can understand them wanting the droids, you can sell those for a lot of money, but a chick who's only skills are finding non-existand mushrooms and getting randomly pregnant, you're not going to get much.
