NOTE:
You're probably one of few here who can even play this game, and the others are Chefelf, who is currently not posting much as he is in the process of moving, and Mr. Robinson, who rarely posts.

I know, I hate it when I start unpopular threads. I feel like I handed out invitations to my party and nobody bothered to show up.

It's one of the most humiliating things that can happen to you in a forum.

Get used to it. The number of threads I've started in the music forum with 0 replies is probably pushing double-digits by now.

Sorry, I'm not a fan of FPS games in general, and as such haven't looked up the required system specs. I just assumed I can't play it.

I'm not really into games like Doom, and I'm pretty sure my computer wouldn't be able to handle it anyway.

The sandpeople had women and children. We know this because Anakin killed them how could he tell? The children might be smaller but I never saw a sandperson with breasts. Did they hike their skirts and show him some leg or something?

Also, I can see the point of wanting to kidnap a human and use her as a slave, but they didn't. They tied her to a flimsy easel for a month. It's assumed they had to feed and give her water. What for? Was she purely ornamental? I can understand them wanting the droids, you can sell those for a lot of money, but a chick who's only skills are finding non-existand mushrooms and getting randomly pregnant, you're not going to get much.

Doom one was creepy. I enjoyed get freaked out at night playing alone. Doom 2 was too hard.

Doom 3 looks great, but I can't get excited by shooting things over and over again.

Bond was fun only because of the multiplayer feature, which I hear Doom 3 lacks. I'm not sure why they did this. It's almost industry standard to have online play in shoot'em up games.

it has NPCs that you can't shoot. the game won't let you target them...
but it you jump back and get the right angle, you can kill them...

sorry, my violence doesn't leave the game and that's the impotant thing.

If I'm playing Doom, I'm shooting monsters, not people. I don't think online play would be as good with a Doom game. Plus, the Battlefield, Unreal, and Counterstrike titles are still pretty much the rulers of online play.

But it all came from doom smile.gif

I haven't tried online yet.. but some of these maps would be great for a little hunting action.. I don't think it would be as good for capture the flag.. but maybe.. I dunno.

I must say though.. it is quite scary when you get into the single player mode... things just are like BAM!!! spider monster hit ya! ya can't see! argh!

and the like

hehe

Which came from Wolfenstein, right? Was that the first FPS game, or were there some beforehand?

I think you are right, Wolfenstein was the first FPS game.. but it didn't have multi-player.. I remember the days when I was in school.. and the computer clusters were filled with people playing doom... ahh.. the good ol' days.
