Ok here it is.
You must write the story to Episode 3 any way you see fit. But you must not ignore the previous 2 prequels while writing it. Also it has to be serious. Serious dialogue and well written action sequences. i know there are some pretty creative people on this board so i thought it would be a fun thing to do. Can you beat Lucas at his own game?....

That's not fair. If I have to build on the previous two prequels, I'd rather not even give it a go. Can I just digitally replace Moe Howard in a Three Stooges movie with a black and white Hayden Christensen and call it even?

I've seen a lot of people claim that I'm a brillantly creative guy, but I seriously doubt I can pull off a good Finale for Star Wars with all the crap that George put in the last two movies.
If had the time or interest in writing the PT in my own words I might do it. Unfortunately I really don't have any interest at all in this, so I guess all I can do is let the others do it and read what they have written (which undoubtably is better than what George has made).
Chefelf once said that the PT looks a lot like the stories he wrote when he was 12. He's not the only one to have this opinion. I once wrote a sleazy Sci-Fi story and thought it was great... only to denouce it as a load of crap just a months after completing it. And based on Hannibel's criticism on Star Wars, I too can make up similiar things about my own work. Now I strive for originality and realism... not flashy rip-offs and incoherance!

That's my opinion, too. Why deal with all that crap, and to add to that, I don't think there's a writer capable of making it look good.

Unfortunately I don't think even our talents are equal to a challenge like that. The trouble is that most of the characters and situations have already been established by the first two movies, so unless we just pretty much ignored everything that's happened already (which would defeat the entire purpose), we're not going to be able to improve things much. Also, the PT so far has thrown up so many plot holes and wasted so much time on matters tangential to the main plot that Ep. III would have to be about 5 hours long to explain everything properly.
However, if you're interested, I have written a story about a Jedi in the process of falling to the Dark Side. It's a prequel to the game Knights of the Old Republic, and it can be found in this thread in the Screening Room. I'll paste the summary here:
' "A Losing Battle" takes place 4 years before the start of the game (which is set 4000 years before the events in the movies). There are minor spoilers for anyone who hasn't played KOTOR, but not too many. The setting: Revan, a young Jedi Knight, has been waging a bloody war against the Mandalorians who attacked the Republic - against the wishes of the Jedi Council. His forces are close to victory, but he himself - without really being aware of the fact - is beginning to fall to the Dark Side.'
If you want you can imagine that he's Anakin's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather or something...

The sandpeople had women and children. We know this because Anakin killed them how could he tell? The children might be smaller but I never saw a sandperson with breasts. Did they hike their skirts and show him some leg or something?

Also, I can see the point of wanting to kidnap a human and use her as a slave, but they didn't. They tied her to a flimsy easel for a month. It's assumed they had to feed and give her water. What for? Was she purely ornamental? I can understand them wanting the droids, you can sell those for a lot of money, but a chick who's only skills are finding non-existand mushrooms and getting randomly pregnant, you're not going to get much.

You challenge us to write a script that can never be made into a real movie and in return we will receive neither money nor college credit.
Um, Not this Crude Matter, I challenge you to mow my lawn all summer. Can you beat the boy I pay to do it at his own game?
