I am one of the lonely and proud few who saw the first Matrix preview and thought: Shit Johnny Neumonic is back, wait, didn't that movie suck really bad?

The Matrix aparently turned out not to be a sequel(so they say) to Johnny Neumonic, and a rip off of a few movies that had actually recently come out. I saw it, and found myself among the few, the despised, the unholy, who thought it was a pile of NEO fascist horseshit. (Before Colombine). ANyway...the sequels later came and after I watched them on video at a friend's house, I thought to myself, well I guess movies are a business...

Then I was at the theater watching BLADE TRINITY, and I saw a preview for what immediately appeared to be Johnny Neumonic part 5, or Matrix 4, or Matrix 5 if you happen to count Johnny Neumonic.

There was Keanu back in black suit and tie, "jacking in" and starring in a computer effects ridden movie that seemed to be yet another Matrix....people flying through the air through skyscrapers, and ...only it wasn't about computers.

Keanu must "jack in" to the occult dimension to fight the forces of evil with a magic stick instead of a cable with a plug on it. Yeah...I get it. Constantine: Ghost in the Machine

Well, I am quite sure I'll be sick of hearing more Matrix fans "jacking off" about this neojohnnyneumoicmatrix remaquel. ("ree-mayk-wel")

Excuse me dude, but its totally bogus.

i liked the first matrix... sure it literized some basic and common philosophy but it had a good soundtrack and previously unoverused SFX.

the seond and third... well...
i've never seen anything look and sound so obviously sell-outy...

and more SGI than a computer simulation of a George Lucas film Special Edition...

i mean really...
i'm not going to bag out the physical SFX though... they were good (and i'm working with some of those people at the moment on another film)

Johnny pNumonic... was a very average film that everyone else i know either loves or hates... It has Henry Rollins it, so i bought an ex-rental copy for a few bucks on VHS... (also a good soundtrack)...
i watch it about every five years or so...

as for a new thing...

meh...

no wait...

whoah...

I hated Johnny. Was very disapointed. I liked the Matrix though, as I am sucked in by pop-culture. So sad.

Wait, how did you just recently see a trailer for a series of movies that ended over a year ago?

I was channel flicking, and came upon Johnny mneonic, and am watching it now. It's not as bad as I remember it. Sure, it's not great, but its not as bad as I thought.

I think the worst thing anyone could have done to HELLBLAZER was to make a movie out of it, and the second worst thing was to have that movie star Keanu Reeves.

Anyway, there it is. CONSTANTINE: The Duke of Ted, Canadian boy, raised in Lebanon, with an oddly-acquired Californian accent, will be playing an intelligent and charming Englishman who happens to be well-connected in occult circles. Pardon me, but wasn't this role just screaming for someone intelligent and charming, not to mention English? I would have liked Anthony Stewart Head.
