how about "Instilling Destiny; Instincts Of The Sith?"

I haven't bought the LOTR EEs so I'm not qualified to comment. But a seven dollar ticket to get to express an opinion is justified, compared to how much time I spend here. Somebody has to go in with an open mind. happy.gif

Still, I would hate to give Lucas any money. I could sell some SW stuff on ebay...

but the "pay to see 'another' film, go into SW theater plan" sounds good too. Of course now I'm sure they'll monitor that.

You know, I'm serious about this. The movie hasnt even come out yet and it pisses me off. Did they not realize that their new movie means "To decay"? Can you imagine how low food sales will be in the theaters?

"Hey, we're going to go watch ROTS. Want some popcorn?"

"Ummm no, the idea of a movie called ROTS does not mix with food."

All he needed to do was change a few letters and he could have had Vengeance of the Sith or, perhaps a title that actually wasn't confusing such as "Rise of the empire"

I did just realize why he didnt call it "Fall of the republic" though. Think about it.

I think only fanboys on internet message boards use the abbrievated form of the movie to save time hile typing. I don't think people will use that word regularly.

True, but it was still such an easily avoided mistake if someone had just looked at it and realized how stupid it was.

Once again commenting on a tiny part of this I've managed to make a statement about the PT as a whole.

so you are syaing they should have changed the name of the movie so it wouldn't spell ROTS when abbrieviated. You got to be kidding me. Iam I the only one that thinks this is a little odd?

i will see it... i'm just going to bully a gusher into paying for me...
or i'll pull some strings for a free session at cinema i occasionally get free sessions to...

i have to see it...

it's been to built up now!!!
i never walk out of a film, no matter how bad, and being part of an inteded trillogy, i'd feel i wasn't justified in condeming it without seeing it first... (although i do, i just want clout)...

UTF- Well think about this. Have there been a lot of other movies that are often abbreviated in the geek community and spell out unwholesome sounding words?

LOTR, FOTR
LOTR, TTT
LOTR, ROTK

ST, TNG (Star trek the next generation)

SW, ANH
SW, ESB
SW, ROTJ
SW, TPM
SW, AOTC

You see? None of those are words. That's what its supposed to be like. I guarantee you that if people aren't calling this movie "ROTS" at the moment they'll probably use the name after they've seen it.

that's a nice observation, J m, but I really doubt anyone will call it by the rots acronym. They'll call it Sith, or just plain old Star Wars. Like the aging rock and roll dinosaur that doesn't know when to retire, the Star Wars brand has lost it's ancient prominence as the standard-bearer.

"Attack of the Clones" (I'm still incredulous that was a star wars title. I cringe typing it out) was like Cher on her third "final" tour. "Return of the Sith" will be to the Star Wars of old, what the "Let It Be (Naked") cd was to Beatlemania.
